Chapter 8

"Yes, Goddess of wisdom and war. Beau isn't much into the war part, but he is able to strategize quickly when needed but I still say that's still more the wisdom in him." she explains, and I nod my heading taking it all in.

"Are all of you descendants?" I ask and she smiles.

She takes us over to the couch Salem was sitting on quietly, sitting down and pulling me on her lap.

"Yes, some of us closer than others. Just like some of us have more abilities than others. Beau for example is extraordinarily strong and incredibly wise, where Salem here has many traits due to being a descendant of Apollo. God of the sun, prophecy, healing, music, medicine and much more." she begins to explain.

"Apollo has many different aspects to him and some of his descendants have parts of all and some as few as one. Salem here is best with healing and medicine, but he also has natural skills with music, dance and archery. That being said though, he has nothing to do with prophecies or the sun or a few other smaller things." she continues, and my eyes widen.

"That's amazing." I say and he smiles.

"Thank you." he replies softly.

"Now, Levi is a descendant of Nyx. Goddess of night. He is at his best throughout this time and has the ability to create the same darkness that brings whenever he pleases." she continues on.

"Damian is descendant of Hades but on a much closer scale, he's the 5th son of Hades but also the most powerful of them all. He inherited all his father's ability and power, but he doesn't crave the power to take over the throne or the responsibility so he's here with us just living life." she says, and I bite my lip.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind before I accidentally ever piss him off." I mumble and they both laugh.

"Now Lucien as you know is your protector, your guardian. He is a descendant of Goddess Soteria. Goddess of safety, deliverance and preservation of harm. Most of her descendants thought are guardians and protectors to certain people who for one reason or another will need it more." she tells me and I

Another fucking thing pointing to all this being my destiny...

"Lastly, I am a descendant to Goddess of magic, witchcraft, rituals, ghosts, doorways and creatures of night like hell-hounds. I mostly only work with rituals and magic. I can engage with some of the other things if need be, but I try to just focus on those." she explains, and I let out a long sigh.

"Wow. You guys really are a unique bunch." I say and she giggles.

"Head feel like it will explode yet?" she asks, and I playfully roll my eyes.

"I think it's already exploded and never grown back." I reply and she chuckles.

"Well, you have got one sexy mirage to disguise it because your face looks perfectly sexy to me." she states with a smirk and I blush.

"Let's go inside." Salem suddenly suggests looking behind us and we both turn to see the sky growing dark.

"I thought it was going to be nice today!" Crimson groans.

"It was." Salem murmurs and she frowns.

"Someone must have really..." before she can finish a large flash of lightning flashes through the sky making me jump.

"A grumble of thunder would have been a nice heads up..." I murmur holding a hand to my rapidly beating chest.

"Awe, is my little kitten scared?" Crimson teased with a giggle and I narrowed my eyes at her.

The wind quickly began to quick up, and rain began to pour.

"Shit, he's really mad." Crimson murmurs followed by a loud crackling sound before a flash of lightning struck making me jump once more.

"Come on, Angel. Let's go inside." Salem softly says standing up and pulling me out of Crimson's lap.

"I'm going to go make sure everything is closed." Crimson murmurs quietly watching the sky above.

Salem leads me inside and takes us to the living room where he starts the fire in the fireplace before grabbing a blanket and sitting down next to me.

"Zeus is just having one of his tantrums, one of the gods must have really pissed him off." Salem mutters tucking the blanket around us.

"How long does it last?" I ask.

"Usually not long, it's more of a way to let all the Gods know to get together to discuss punishment for whatever pissed him off." he says, and I nod my head with a frown as I heard the crackling and booms of the thunder outside.

I was grateful I could no longer see the lightning, but the sounds of thunder weren't comforting either.

"Mila?" I heard Lucien's familiar voice say and looked behind me to see walking into the room with a frown.

"Is something wrong?" I ask getting up and meeting him halfway.

"I have to leave for a few days...and it's not safe for me to bring you. Promise me you will stay here and don't go anywhere, even outside, without telling someone. I want and need you to be safe until I get back, understand?" he tells me cupping my face and I could see the worry in his eyes.

"I promise. When do you have to go?" I ask and he places a gentle kiss on my forehead before pulling me into his chest and holding me tightly.

"In a minute." he says after a moment and I frown.

"The weather..." I begin to say but he stops me.

"I'm immortal, this is nothing. All I'm worried about is you being safe while I'm gone." he says and as he pulls away, I lean up and peck his cheek.

"I'll be okay, promise." I say and he lets out a sigh but nods his head.

He kisses my head one more time before letting me go.

"Levi is waiting upstairs for you." he says turning to Salem.

"I'll be right back, Angel." Salem says to me before leaving the room.

"Damian told me... Don't worry, Luce. I'll make sure to keep her busy and safe while you're away." Crimson says walking into room with a small smirk.

"I have no doubts about that..." he murmurs, and she giggles mischievously.

"Come on, kitten. Let me show you the indoor pool room." she says taking my arm and I wave goodbye to Luce before following her out.
