I ACCEPT YOU

I screamed and ran away from my mirror the second I saw my reflection. Jason was right. I am a monster but how did I become this way? Was it something I drank at the club? Would I ever change back?

I felt so scared and alone. Not only had I turned into a weird-looking creature but I had lost Jason and he was all I had here. I didn't know what to do or who to turn to. I couldn't call my grandma because not only did I not want her to worry, I couldn't explain what was happening to me. Anyone who heard it would think I'm nuts and anyone who saw me would say I am a monster or a freak.

I sat on the floor, just beside my bed, and closed my eyes. This wasn't my reality because I refuse to accept it. This was all a dream and when I finally woke up, I would put it behind me and ensure that my relationship with Jason was still intact.

I didn't want to open my eyes or get up from the ground. Even when I had the urge to use the bathroom, I remained where I was until I finally drifted off to sleep.

I woke up in the morning and stretched my body. I was wondering why I spent the night on the ground when the memories of last night came to me. I looked at my hands and could still see the furs and claws. I had thought it was a dream, I needed help.

I took out my phone and called Jason. Regardless of what he said, he was all I had. I felt disappointed and heartbroken when I realized that Jason had blocked my number. Didn't he say he loved me? Why did he leave me when I needed him the most? If we were together, we would have figured out what was going on with me but now, I didn't know where to go or who to turn to.

I closed my eyes and cried my heart out. I cried at the pain of losing the love of my life and the pain of realizing that I had turned into a freak overnight. I thought of going to the hospital for help but I was scared of the doctor's reaction. They would all treat me the way Jason did, that is, if I did not end up in a cage.

I got up from the ground and slowly walked to the mirror. I stared at my reflection for a while without running away. I had no idea what I was but I was determined to find out. I took out my phone and described my appearance on the internet, asking what creature looked like I did. I was shocked by the answer I got. I was a werewolf.

I had heard werewolf stories when I was little but I believed there were just myths. I searched for pictures of werewolves and what I saw was no different from what I looked like.

How did I become a werewolf? From what I read on the internet, a person became one either by birth or when bitten. I couldn't recall ever being bitten. As a matter of fact, I had never seen a werewolf before. So did this mean I was born a werewolf?

But how could that be? My parents weren't werewolves and neither was my grandma. Everything was just mind-boggling. I was still staring at my reflection when my body began to change back.

I was pleasantly surprised. I had thought I would be stuck with a werewolf look. I touched my beautiful skin which had returned and heaved a sigh of relief. At least I was human again but I was afraid to step my feet outside.

I knew that I needed to go to work but I didn't understand how this werewolf thing worked and I couldn't risk changing into one in public. I began to make calls to my employers and told them that I was very sick.

I was given time off and I felt grateful for it. Now I had a few days to figure out what had happened to me but where do I start? I decided to freshen up first since I reeked of alcohol. I brushed my teeth, took my bath, and wore a little makeup. Anything to convince me that I was nothing more than a human.

I sat on my bed as I thought of what to do. Left with no other option, I decided to search for answers on the internet. I had just typed in a few words when my doorbell rang.

I wasn't expecting anyone and the only person who could visit me was Jason. My heart skipped a beat when I realized that he had eventually come to see me. This only meant that he truly loved me.

I got up from my bed and happily ran to open my door. The person I saw was one of the last people I ever thought I would get the chance to meet. Alex, the popular billionaire and one of the most eligible bachelors in the city. He was tall and handsome and women fought for a chance to be close to him. What was someone like him doing in front of my door?

He stared at me as if he had just seen someone he had been looking for. I had never crossed paths with him so I found his behavior strange. What I also found strange was the way he smelled. I felt drawn by his scent like I had been shot with an aphrodisiac.

I forgot all about Jason and suddenly had just one need, to throw myself in the arms of Alex. I was sexually excited and my body craved the man in front of me but I could not understand what was going on.

As if on cue, Alex suddenly pulled me closer and hugged me tightly. I was extremely surprised, to say the least, but it felt good to be in his arms. It felt so good. He kissed me on my cheek and said, "mate, I accept you."
