It has almost been a week since Renee's death, and things are started to go back to normal—at least for other people. The people in the Cosa Nostra moved on with their life—like Renee never even passed away. Even Don Emiliano, the direct father of Renee, went back to work as usual on the day of Renee's funeral.

From an outsider's perspective, it may also look like Luciano isn't the least fazed about Renee's death, but I knew better. He has been negligent of his health, and he also has been shutting off most people—especially me.

I have tried multiple times to talk to him and make him open up to me like before, but it seems like he doesn't want to confront me at all.

I knocked on his door with his favorite cup of coffee in hand.

"Come in," I heard his gruff voice.

I slowly opened the door and peeked my head inside. He was wearing his glasses while typing something on his laptop. "I've made you some coffee," I softly said.

He didn't even glance at me and just patted
