Chapter Forty Eight.

Aaron's POV.

The crowd have left now. The room is much more silent now. I am still staring at Cole Hunter, as he is staring back at me.

He scoffs, suddenly, breaking the eye contact. As he goes to the table, his hands trailing the solidity of the long meeting table, he states, "would you like some drunk, Nicholas?" His eyes meet mine. I have a stern face worn on. "Oh, you don't want me to call you by your name?"

There's a stiff moment of silence, forced to be cursed with great tension and then, I chuckle, "Oh, Cole Hunter, you seem to be acting like the Old man which your appearance projects." I say and for the first time since I've been in this room, my legs touch the ground.

I take a seat on one of the many seats. Cole Hunter, on the other hand, goes to sit at the head chair.

He is now pouring himself a drink. "And again, I ask. Would you like one?"

"Yes, of course. The sun this afternoon was harsh, anyway, which I'm sure your men can be a witness of." I s
