CHAPTER 5

"Sean!" Even Miguel's booming call to the newcomer could be heard by her. She was unable to see the guy's face because Miguel had his back to her.

Miguel called the man who was dressed simply. He was dressed in pants and a white polo shirt. The man's arrival was strong despite the fact that his back was turned on her and his attire was simple. She had previously heard the guys discuss his name.

As they greeted the man they called "Sean," the band grew even louder. She believes they are pals.

She was about to see the man's face when a woman who had just entered the group abruptly blocked her vision. The two women followed him and drew closer to where he was standing, making it much harder for her to see his face.

She simply averted her gaze, then looked at the person sitting next to her who gave her something to eat off the table. She hadn't eaten yet, so her stomach was immediately growling.

Are they planning to go on dates there? Or will they choose another venue?

They might end up eating at a restaurant, so she should not have eaten beforehand. Perhaps they'll only stay a short while to attend a friend's party before departing.

She gave the food on the table in front of her one last glance.

She took it and ate it as her tummy growled once more. If she doesn't get some food in her, she might pass out from starvation. She has not yet grown accustomed to hunger.

She smiled and thanked the lady for the food. She was concentrating on that. When the woman handed her a bottle of beer, she had just started to object.

"I don't drink." She refused.

She continued to eat. This is preferable to having to wait for her date to feed her. Hunger was causing her stomach discomfort. She was about to put another piece of chicken in her mouth when she thought of looking at the group of men she and Miguel had gone to earlier. Maybe she will finally see the face of that "Sean".

The chicken she was about to eat stopped in the air when she met the gaze of the man sitting in front of her. He was smiling while his friends happily chatted next to him. He was actually looking at her.

She was taken aback by his attractive face. If Miguel already had good looks, the man in front of her had a Greek god-like appearance. He has long, wavy hair that is becoming more curly; thick eyelashes that resemble those of a woman; and a pointed nose.

Moreover, his lips

She didn't notice his lips suddenly pecking at her until he began to wink at her and looked like he was blowing a kiss in the air. She averted her gaze from the man as her cheeks grew hot.

She dropped the chicken she was holding by accident instead of swallowing it, then hastily searched for anything to drink. The woman brought her a beer again just in time, and she gulped it down. She seemed to have developed a sudden thirst.

She has really consumed alcohol previously, but only as a taster because she dislikes the flavor of beer. Only once, when she went out with Mhariel's companions, did she succumb to Mhariel's request.

Her mood suddenly changed when she remembered the woman.

She searched for water because she could not get the bitter taste of beer out of her throat. The man and she again locked gazes.

Wasn't he taking his eyes off of her?

She didn't let her gaze linger on him because she was already worried. She did see many bottles of mineral water next to where the man was sitting. She adjusted her seat and then just faced the other direction. She then recalled the water Sheena had earlier given her. She pulled out the tiny bottle from her bag right away. She cracked it open and took a big mouthful of everything within.

She turned her head away from the group of men. She believed she appeared foolish.

Does he still have plans to continue their date? Is he really her date or is she just assuming?

She was about to call Sheena to say that she was leaving when suddenly someone stood in front of her. She slipped the phone back into her bag carelessly before gently raising her head. Even though she hadn't seen the face of the man standing in front of her yet, she already had an idea of who it was because of his clothes.

"Hi!" He greeted her with a smile when her eyes landed on his face.

Before responding, she took a swallow.

She responded, "H-hi."

"Hello, Sean!" Softly, the woman sitting next to her greeted him. She got too ecstatic before she could notice the man in front of them.

"Hello, Trish!" He responds to the woman in a flirtatious manner.

The woman said, "You might want to sit next to me."

Next to her? She turned to face where they were seated. It can only accommodate two individuals at a time. Did the woman merely give her a cue to let the man take her place?

"Ah, you can sit here." She got up right away to make room for the man next to the woman.

As she stared at her, the woman's smile grew, and she appeared appreciative of what she had done.

"Yeah, next time, Trish." He politely declined her offer.

He looked at her, and she halted her motions.

"This place is very noisy. I can take you away from the speakers so we can chat without shouting," He had to move his mouth closer to her ear due to the loud music coming from the speakers next to them as he spoke to her while grinning.

The man's appeal increased as he smiled, and she felt on the verge of amazement. He appeared to be flirting with her. As he continued speaking, she felt the warmth of his breath on her skin. She nearly trembled.

She was still hesitating and wanted to confirm that he was her date for the evening because it may very well have been another man.

"Why? Are you here with someone?" The music in the background grew louder, so he drew his mouth back to her ear so she could hear.

After asking her, he instantly looked around.

He inquired as to whether she had company. It follows that he is not his date.

"Let's go somewhere because this place is really noisy." Before she could respond, he took her and led her out of the area.

She just followed because the loud speakers that were placed near where she was earlier hurt her ears.

They made their way to the little bar that had been set up especially for that occasion at the end of that floor. She assumed that the bar was private to whoever was holding the party because no one else was present.

There was a bartender there who immediately poured them drinks. She held her tongue until they were seated.

"I don't know if I went to the right place, but I was meant to meet someone for a blind date," she said.

"Blind date?" She observed his surprised expression. After some time, his smile turned into a faint laugh.

He was chuckling at what she said, which made her frown.

"Is blind dating still a trend now?" He brought her a wine glass filled with wine while asking her with a smile.

She didn't intend to drink it, but she accepted what he handed her. The man also got a drink and gulped it straight down.

When the glass was lowered and she didn't respond, he said, "I'm not sure if one of my friends is here on a blind date."

She therefore assumed that she was in the wrong location!
