His anger soon turned into confusion as he watched her run past his car. She looked like she was about to break down in tears, like she had just witnessed something terrifying.

Ethan quickly turned the car around and drove slowly behind her.

He could roughly guess what the girl must have witnessed in there, and his heart broke as he watched her sit in a bus shelter and bawl her eyes out.

He parked across the road.

A part of him wanted to get down from the car and console Elizabeth, but he knew well to leave her to pour all of her heart out. She needed it.

And when Elizabeth was done crying, she reached for her pocket and brought out a card. He recognized the card. It was the one he had given her earlier.

His heart skipped a beat as he watched in silence as she stared at the card in her hand with an unreadable expression on her face.

Ethan knew exactly what was going on in her mind... contradicting thoughts...

She soon stood up and entered a telephone booth.
