The Intrusion

Elizabeth’s POV

“Dad, please. It’s good enough that he came at all, I’m content with that.” His sister takes his side immediately.

Phew.

The older man grunts at his daughter.

“Plus, he didn’t come alone… he came with…” the pretty lady grins at me.

I open my mouth to introduce myself but before I can speak, Ethan, that pervert, cuts in. “Guys, meet Elizabeth. She’s my fiancée.”

‘Damn!’ I shut my mouth right back.

Wait, what?! He dropped the bomb just like that. My eyes blink rapidly.

Three pairs of eyes land on me in an assessing manner.

What’s this? A Continuous Assessment? Damn. I break into hot sweats at once.

“Good evening, Sir, Ma…” I lower my head, more from embarrassment than politeness.

No one says a word until about several seconds later.

And it’s the father who speaks first. “Who are you?”
