Chapter 3: Robbed

“Huh? Hey, brother!” the ginger-haired guy called as he looked at the leaving Raine in surprise. “You won’t help me?!” he asked, shocked that Raine just left instead of helping him. His eyes turned red, then his tears fell. “Waah!!!” he cried.

Shit. What a troublesome guy! Raine inwardly cursed and turned back.

The robber laughed as he looked at the ginger-haired guy with a mocking gaze. “See? He didn’t help you –!” he said when he suddenly cried after he was kicked in the back. “Ack! Who the fck - ?!” he cursed and turned.

“Who said I didn’t (help), huh?” Raine asked and glared at the robber.

The robber glared murderously at Raine. Just as he has found a target who is obviously filthy rich, not to mention such a very easy target because it was a ‘kid’, someone has to interrupt him!

“You fcking nosy brat…” the robber spoke when suddenly, he froze after he noticed the uniform that Raine was wearing. “Ri – Riverside High… “ he stammered then looked clearly at Raine’s face. “Raven black hair… deep blue eyes… pale skin… you can’t be – ?!” he muttered as he looked at Raine with his eyes wide in shock. “Waaah!” he screamed and ran away as fast as he could.

Who doesn’t know this blue-eyed devil?! And that Riverside High School uniform that has been his trademark since it was his first ‘territory’… it was none other than Raine! Raine Leister! That guy who is a tyrant – both in academics and fighting. Who would dare bump into him?! They won’t even dare just look at him! Oh, except a few girls who have a crush on him.

Raine snorted in disdain as he looked at the fleeing robber. He took out his mobile phone and dialed the police’s hotline. Oh? Just because I am a tyrant, you think I don’t respect the law and the police? He thought and rolled his eyes. They are the most hardworking people, duh! He naturally respects the law and the police. In short, he is a law-abiding citizen. Thus, even if he is a tyrant, he also knows who to call during such crimes like this.

As Raine waited for the police to answer the call, he heard the ginger-haired guy sighed.

“Ah. I’m saved.” He said and smiled at Raine.

Raine didn’t answer and just looked at his uniform. “Margin Academy… what a pampered rich kid.” he muttered.

“What is it?” the Margin Academy student asked.

“Nothing.” Raine said. “What are you doing here?” he asked as he messaged the police officer that he knows. “This is way out of your area.” He told him and kept his mobile phone after he finished sending the message.

“Ah. I am looking for someone.” The Margin Academy student answered, then looked around. “They said I could find him here, somewhere…” he muttered.

Idiot. You are just looking for trouble. Raine thought and clicked his tongue in annoyance. Look, he is wearing that uniform… it is like putting up a placard on your head saying, ‘rob me’. He thought and sighed. “So? Who are you looking for? I might help you.” He said.

His eyes brightened when he heard what Raine said. “Really? Thanks!” he said and took out a piece of paper from his pocket.

Green eyes… like nature. Raine thought when he saw the other’s eyes.

“Uhm… how do I read this?” the other muttered as he looked at the paper. “Rai… Rain… Les… Leis? Leister?” he tilted his head. “’Raine Leister’. That’s it!” he cheered when he finally managed to read the name correctly. “What’s wrong?” he asked when he saw that Raine’s expression was frozen.

“Ah, nothing.” Raine said. “Sorry. I don’t know anyone with that name.” he told him and lowered his gaze to hide the vigilance in his eyes. He is looking for me? He thought as his expression turned serious. Could he be…? But – He looked at him. – he doesn’t know me, so… who is he? He frowned.

“Huh? Is that so?” he said, looking disappointed. He smiled weakly. “Thanks. And for earlier – “ he said and handed Raine a candy.

Raine secretly frowned. What am I, a kid? He thought, though he smiled at him. “Thanks.” He said and walked away without looking back. Then, he looked at the candy.

The candy’s wrapper was neat and the design was intricate. Raine unwrapped it and ate it. Hmm. It tastes good. He thought. I wonder where I can buy this?

He thought and put the wrapper inside his pocket while he walked back home.

But, it seems like today he is going to be screwed. Raine was near his house when he stopped in his tracks. He saw a shining and expensive car parked outside his and his mother’s house. Several men in black suits are standing outside, looking around vigilantly. At just a glance, obviously they are nothing good.

Fuck troubles! I am already tired of them! Raine thought as he turned on his heels and prepared to leave.

Suddenly, a man came out of the house. “Hey. Did he arrive?” he asked the man who was standing outside.

The other shook his head.

They are here again… Raine thought and frowned in annoyance. He already encountered trouble on his way home, but when he reached home, a bigger one (trouble) arrived. “Damn it.” He cursed. “Why can’t they just stop following me  – “ he muttered with his brows knitted in frustration.

“Hmm. Why is it?” he heard someone speaking.

Raine froze, then turned. His eyes went wide in shock when he saw that someone was behind him!

“Waah!” Raine exclaimed as he stared at the person. He was surprised to see that it was the ginger-haired guy with green eyes earlier. Raine immediately covered his mouth when one of the men in black suit looked their way. “Shit.” he cursed, then looked at the ginger-haired guy who was crouching behind the bushes like him. “Why are you here? Why are you hiding, too?” he asked.

“Hmm?” he said and took a bite on his bread.

Where did he get it (bread) anyway? Raine thought.

“I am looking for someone.” The ginger-haired guy answered.

“Hey. Did he arrive?” Raine heard the men in black suits ask again while looking around. “Shit. We’re screwed if we can’t bring him back with us.” They said, looking worried.

Raine grimaced. “Then just be screwed…” he muttered and sighed.

“Hey. They are also looking for someone.” The ginger-haired guy beside Raine said and went out of their hiding.

Crap! I got a bad feeling about this. Raine thought. “Hey. Wait – “ he called, but the ginger-haired guy had already been seen.

“Yo!” the ginger-haired guy greeted them.

Raine covered his face. What an idiot. Can’t he tell that they are bad guys? He thought.

The men in black suits turned to the ginger-haired guy. “Huh? Who is this?” they asked.

“Is it him?” one of them asked.

“’him’?” the ginger-haired guy asked.

Raine’s eyes went wide as alarm bells in his mind rang loudly. Shit! Don’t…! He thought, panicking. But, it is too late.

“Are you Raine Leister?” the men in black suits asked the ginger-haired guy.
