Chapter 3: Have A Fever

Jack remembered very well that Lisa had never dared to contradict him before. He told her to stay home in the morning, but now she's nowhere to go.

Call security for the camera, then Jack turns around and heads down to the second floor. However, after only a few steps, he suddenly heard a noise from a small room for sleeping guests.

This living room has been empty since he and Lisa moved here. Jack frowned and immediately moved to that side, still holding the other bag tightly in his hand.

The room door was unlocked, and he could see inside as soon as he got closer. Jack's legs stopped, feeling like his head was about to break.

He doesn't thought had left half a minute ago, Lisa is now lying on a big bed, covering half her face with a blanket.

Jack moved to the thick blanket, but held it back because he remembered Lisa was sick.

In his hand, he was carrying a bag of medicines of all kinds, colds, headaches, and depression. When he went to the drugstore, he bought it thinking about something.

He didn't feel anything when he bought it, and now taking it with me to see Lisa, who has been making a cold face like Jack, he started to feel something strange.

Despite all this, he hates sick people in front of him, not worrying about her. This is just for himself!

Jack thought so, and then he decided to go inside the room. When he saw Lisa still at home, he felt a little relieved.

Lisa seemed to be sleeping deeply, Jack walked to the side, but she still didn't move. He saw her red cheeks and slightly frowned eyebrows, and the burning fire in his heart suddenly flared up again.

"Wake up." Jack kicked the foot of the bed: "Lisa, wake up now."

Lisa's face under the blanket was frowning. She crept, then pulled the blanket over the other half of her face.

"Let me sleep a little more." Lisa's husky voice said, "I'm tired. Go out."

"Who did you just call father?"

Jack's face was grayish, typically, he was used to Lisa's careful look, but this was the first time she had said something like this.

Although knowing that the words “daddy” and “go out” are not for him, Jack is highly uncomfortable. He couldn't see anymore, and he didn't want to force her to wake up.

However, as soon as he was about to turn around, Lisa suddenly moved from behind. He heard a low cry from under the thin blanket, followed by her choking voice.

"Daddy… did he come… you told him to leave. I… don't want to see him…."

In just one afternoon, Jack went from surprise to surprise. He sure the word “daddy” didn't mean him just now, but this word “him” can't go anywhere.

"Don't you want to meet?" Jack rarely kept his temper like this: "Lisa, wake me up!"

The little girl under the blanket heard a scream, first startled, then didn't move, whether awake or not.

Jack walked two long steps, this time without mercy, pulling the blanket out. Lisa didn't know when to open her eyes, and now she looked so scared.

Jack tried to keep his voice from getting too excited: "Hate me that much? Don't you want to see me even in your dream?”

Lisa seemed to have remembered something. Her face reddened with fever was getting darker and darker, and her eyes were teary: "I… just…."

Just what?

Lisa didn't know what to say to avoid awkwardness.

She closed her lips and turned away, not knowing how to respond. At this moment, she saw a medicine bag lying on her head, and her face suddenly stiffened.

"Are you buying this medicine?" Lisa hesitated.

"No." Jack wouldn't mind interrupting her: "you've had such a beautiful dream. You think I brought you some medicine?"

Lisa rolled her eyes, and her pretty face couldn't hide her regret.

But why are you sad?

Lisa told herself that Lisa wasn't Lena and that she hoped he would bring the medicine for her.

"So… Aunt must have brought it." Lisa whispered, her voice a bit lost: "Me, sleeping too well… I guess I don't know."

Jack didn't bother to explain, "Yeah, that must be very light, huh? Because I didn't bring it. You're thinking, if it's mine, you won't drink it anymore.”

Lisa doesn't understand why Jack is so excited. Her hands clasped the bed mattress, lifting her dim eyes to look at him.

" Are you because of my earlier statement that you..."

"Lisa…" Jack suddenly approached to grab her little chin. His eyes of indignation couldn't fire: "Tell me, do you hate me? Because of me, you have to live under her cover every day. Because of me, you can't go to someone you love. Right?"

Lisa's small face turned up, and the corners of her eyes burned violently. She tried to stop herself from shedding tears, but her heart still hurt.

"That's right, I... I live in Lena's name every day. I am Lisa! I am Lisa! I am Lisa!"

“...”

"Do I hate you? I don't! I don't hate you at all! Because this is my choice. I accepted my sister's place to marry you from the beginning, so now I have no right to hate."

“...”

Lisa's voice was increasingly trembling, and she knew these words had torn off the mask she had been trying to put on her face for the past year.

But what's she supposed to do?

Every day, the person she loves with all her heart considers her a different person. Why does she stay? Isn't it time for everyone to return to their seats?

Jack's hand raised her chin a little higher, with a colder voice: "So the more you want to leave. Lisa, I'll tell you one last time, unless I allow it. Otherwise, you don't expect to walk out of this James Family!"

As soon as he finished, despite Lisa's trembling, Jack violently kissed her lips. Blood ran into his mouth, and he did not know whose lips were bleeding.
