Chapter 12

17–22 minutes

-ANNA-

I shut the door on Samantha’s car and start making my way up to Andy’s house that is packed with people. There’s a few people passed out on the front lawn amongst beer bottles and red solo cups...charming. Looks like Andy is throwing one hell of a party. I look at Samantha before we go in. “Alright, you take the downstairs and I’ll take the upstairs.”

The brunette nods. “I’ll text you if I find her.”

I nod and we both enter the house. Samantha makes a beeline through the mass of drunk people dancing. It looks like a mix of high schoolers and college students. I’m about to climb the stairs when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

“Anna! I’m so glad you could make it!” Andy exclaims, grabbing me in a friendly hug. He’s not drunk but definitely smells like booze. I wrinkle my nose in disgust at the smell of beer. Gross. I may be spoiled but I prefer wine, mixed drinks and hard liquor. Beer just smells and tastes awful to me.

I give him a quick squeeze. “I’m not here
