24–30 minutes -ANNA- Sitting at the kitchen island on a barstool, I take a sip of the glass of orange juice in my hand as I flip through the old potions and elixirs book looking for anything new to make. Aunt Beatrice asked me if I would refill our family stockpile while my aunts and Lucifer go out today, making me rather suspicious of what they are doing together. They were helping Lucifer with something, that was about all I got out of it. When I questioned the Devil about it, he just gave me one of his signature sexy smiles and told me it was a surprise. 22–28 minutes -ANNA- Lucifer left early this morning to meet with someone and retrieve my car from the woods. I decided I needed some fresh air, so I put on a black sports bra, a pair of black workout leggings and some tennis shoes before running through the woods surrounding the house. Lucifer couldn’t say anything about it because our land has protective wards that requires anything supernatural to have an invitation to enter by either me or my aunts. After spending the last thirty minutes running, I stop to get the mail out of the mailbox. I bounce up the front steps of the house and enter, closing the door behind me. 22–28 minutes -ANNA- Lucifer showed me around the second floor of the house and my twisted b***h of a mind pointed out the perfect room for a nursery. Irony, my own mind turned against me. Now we are heading up to the master bedroom, which I’m excited to see. The top of the stairs opens into our own little personal hallway with large bay windows on either side. There’s a decent sized linen closet on one side and a couch on the other. In the middle of the hallway there is a heavy wooden double door. I open one side of it and peek in. Oh, my... Against the fore wall is an extravagant looking king sized bed with enough pillows to make Martha Stewart envious. There is a side table and lamp on each side of the bed. 21–27 minutes -ANNA- Lucifer let’s out a frustrated sigh and scrubs his hand down his face. He stares at the table a moment before returning his gaze to me. “I’ve had my men looking for those responsible for the attacks on you. The Bowlvarines and Crawlers in the mortal realm are no coincidence.” I nod, although I already knew this. Crawlers are restricted to the Deadlands in the Underworld and Bowlvarines rarely venture out into the mortal realm. The fact these two occurrences happened and I was attacked by both is no coincidence. “And?” He sighs again. “My men haven’t found anything. No leads on who is orchestrating the attacks. No leads on who was able to remove the Crawlers from the Deadlands. 19–25 minutes -ANNA- Lucifer teleported us back to my bedroom at my aunts house. I threw myself on the bed, throwing an arm over my eyes. 22–28 minutes -LUCIFER- “Envy?” Anna asks with a questioning eyebrow. Envy is a club located in the fancier part of Underworld Central. It’s closer to the Crimson City than I like, knowing that I have enemies there that would love nothing more than to take my Queen from me, however, I’m confident I can protect her from anything they throw at me.
