Chapter 28 - The Date

The lights are off but there are candles all around the room. I stop and gasp as I admire the romantic atmosphere. Soft music is playing in the background, and rose petals are sprinkled all over the floor. A table and two chairs sit in the middle of the small room, with a white linen tablecloth draped over it, and a single red rose sitting in a vase as the centerpiece. The drapes hanging from the French doors are wide open, so we can watch the rain cascade down the glass.

His gentle touch sends tingles shooting through my core as he slides his hand down to my lower back. Leaning in, he whispers in my ear, “That’s gasp number one.”

“Knox, I don’t know what to say!” I turn slightly so I can see his face, “It’s perfect!”

If I didn’t know any better, I’d say that I just made the man in front of me blush. I can’t be too certain because of the lighting, but the shy smile he gives me and the slight pinkish tint across his cheeks, might be what gives it away.
