I winced at that word. "What's the matter?"

"Nothing. It's just... you said the couple. I thought vampires didn't mate, let alone werewolves."

“I really don't know, I've never been a werewolf. We can and do have partners whenever we want. For us, this is a real partnership, a comrade with whom you can spend eternity. We don't have a biological need to procreate, so that's out of the equation. When we choose a partner, we perform a blood-binding ceremony, and this lasts until our actual death. And what?"
