Every few moments, my eyes found Hayes again. And every time they did, he was looking at me.

When the speech finally ended, the competitors were called forward.

We were divided into groups.

I took a deep breath and stepped onto the field.

The first challenge was the agility course.

I stared at it.

There were several barriers, narrow platforms, swinging padded obstacles, and walls we had to climb before reaching the finish line.
