Unhinged

Irene nervously fiddled with her fingers, her heart sinking as she listened to him. The dark look in his eyes revealed that he had already seen through the lie she had used to push him away.

But he couldn't resist making a scene. He seemed to thrive on trouble, and it was evident in his demeanor.

"Who is attending to this woman?" Theodore pointed, his initial instinct to say 'wife' quickly suppressed. He couldn't blow his cover, which was definitely not a good idea.

Irene felt a wave of discomfort wash over her as he referred to her as "woman." Of course, she was a woman, but she also had a name. It was degrading to be addressed in such a manner, especially coming from someone like him.

"Sir, we don't know," replied one of the doctors, a man in his fifties. The room was filled with an air of fear, and rightfully so. They were dealing with a member of the Myers family, and one wrong move could jeopardize their entire careers, or even their lives.

They didn't even know what they had do
