"Her dad literally passed away a week and a half ago," Antonio defended me. The feeling of wanting to cry washed over me as my heart began to sink. I hate how emotional I am when it comes to this. The fact that she would bring it up in such a manner was low.

When I looked back over at her she was shooting Alex a flirtatious smile as she ignored what Antonio said. "I'm head cheerleader," she said in a deeper tone of voice as if she was trying too hard to sound like someone she wasn't.

"I don't really care," he stated in a deadpan voice. The entire table chuckled, it even made me crack a smile. Her cheeks turned a deep shade of red as she glared at all of us.
