CHAPTER 35: BETRAYAL

Meredith's POV:

The person sitting in the dark, empty room should have been expected, but I don't know why it surprised me.

My eyes narrow into a glare as I stare at her sitting on an armchair. She has a blank death stare on her face, and judging by the red skin surrounding her nose and how crooked it looks, I would say she's pretty pissed.

“What do you want, Gwen?” I demand, and she plasters a fake yet sadistic grin on her face.

“Just to have a friendly conversation with you,” she says, and I snort.

“Not interested,” I say, and just when I am about to turn my back on her, she takes out a golden dagger from her pocket and slams the tip into the arm of the chair.

Most people would be scared when someone like Gwen pulled out a weapon on them. But I was pissed.

That wasn't just any ordinary golden dagger.

That was mine.
