Chapter 13 How Dare You

“Auntie, I'm telling you I didn't have a fever. I heard the person on the phone saying she was Shengsheng. If you don't believe me, you can ask Zhang Kai. He heard it too! Zhang Kai, tell auntie you heard it!"

"Yeah...yeah, I did."

"Did she call you mom?"

"Yeah."

"You can call her number and see whether it was her who called me."

Gu Baisheng was still a bit dizzy and had not fully woken up. She heard people talking around her endlessly.

She frowned and wanted to raise her hands up to touch her shoulder which was faintly hurting.

Then she suddenly heard her phone ringing.

She tried to find her phone subconsciously.

When she just touched her phone case, she heard a voice breaking the creepy silence in the room.

Qu Xiaobo said quietly, "It was her who called me!"

"Shengsheng..."

"Is she possessed by Gu Baisheng's ghost?" Zhang Kai guessed unbelievably.

Gu Baisheng's head hurt with all the noise. She slowly opened her eyes and saw three people surrounding her.

From left to right, it was Qu Xiaobo, Zhang Kai, and Hu Hui.

Hu Hui was in a hospital gown, but she looked better.

Seeing that, Gu Baisheng was glad. She wanted to sit up on her bed. She blurted out without thinking, "Mom, are you feeling better now?"

For a moment, the room again fell into dreadful and creepy silence.

Qu Xiaobo's mouth twitched, "What did she call auntie?"

Zhang Kai looked silly because of the shock. He answered, "Mom?"

Gu Baisheng stared at their strange looks and suddenly remembered that she was no longer Gu Baisheng but Bai Shengsheng.

She blinked her eyes.

Hu Hui asked her, "Why did you call me mom?"

"I..." Gu Baisheng didn't know how to respond.

Qu Xiaobo immediately asked her, "Did you call me and told me that you were Gu Baisheng?"

"I..."

Gu Baisheng looked at them. She felt like her tongue was twisted.

She hurriedly thought about how to respond in her head.

While she was thinking, suddenly the door of the room was slammed open. It banged on the wall with a huge noise.

Bai Dahai's voice came over, "Didn't I tell you to stop wasting your time on Song Shuang? Why are you still trying? Do you want to die or what? Why did you take the stab for Song Shuang's old mother-in-law? Do you really think that if you did this, he would marry you?"

Bai Dahai came in scolding. Xia Juan was by his side calming him.

When Bai Dahai showed up, Qu Xiaobo, Zhang Kai, and Hu Hui all frowned and looked at him.

Bai Dahai didn't want his daughter to waste any more time on Song Shuang, so he didn't look at them and went over to Gu Baisheng. He grabbed Gu Baisheng's arm and yanked her down the bed, "Go home with me! Stop wasting your time here! Go home and rest. Then date Shen Jing! You're not young anymore. You don't work, and you don't marry. Your mom and I are old, and we still have to take care of you, a waste. Do you think it's not humiliating?"

Gu Baisheng was not Bai Shengsheng. She was just using her body, so of course, she wouldn't date that abusive man as Bai Dahai wished.

She struggled when Bai Dahai was yanking her down the bed, "I'm in charge of my own marriage!"

"How dare you go against me?"

Bai Dahai raised his hand and was going to slap Gu Baisheng.

Seeing that, Xia Juan wanted to stop him, yet she didn't dare to. She watched that hand going down, and she just shouted in shock, "Dahai!"

Bai Dahai didn't listen to Xia Juan. He used his full strength and wanted to beat his daughter until she obeyed.

However, when that hand was about to reach Gu Baisheng, someone stopped it by grabbing Bai Dahai's waist.

A hand with slim and long fingers easily pinched Bai Dahai's wrist.

It seemed like that person wasn't using much strength, yet Bai Dahai's expression changed.

Seeing the owner of that hand, everyone was surprised.

Even Gu Baisheng said quietly in shock, "Song Shuang?"
