The only thing I could do at that moment was to stare at him, speechless. My mouth parted, but no words came, so I just stared.

“ What do you mean by that? You gave me your words, Raymond!” I said in a stern voice that sounded more like a cry for help than anything. I wanted to say something else, some other hurtful thing, but my brain couldn't seem to figure out what to say next.

“You assured me that there was no way the baby could be yours? Now what?" He continued to glare at me with those piercing green eyes that seemed to pierce right through me. Then he started talking again, “I am truly sorry, Natasha. Everything that happened that night was fuzzy. That was why I was certain, I trusted myself so much, "he said.

“ Don't give me that bullshit!” My heart was thumping hard as I looked around, not sure what direction to run towards. “None of these things you just said will change the fact that another woman is carrying your baby” I started to cry. “ How do you expect me to feel?”
