I stared at the screen longer than I should have, my grip tightening around the phone while my brain was working ten times more than usual as I tried to think of who could be behind this?

Who could be so bold as to threaten me?

The picture of Miriam standing at the front of the same office building I dropped her off this morning, looking carefree with a big smile on her face.

The kind of smile that softens everything inside me, the kind of smile I selfishly want only for myself.
