Surfington Central Hospital.

The morgue.

Miles Clark placed his hands on a woman's chest and began kneading it.

"You got lucky by running into me today. I just inherited a whole new set of skills, and my mind has been awakened again! You've already lost fragments of your soul. It feels like I have to fight the Grim Reaper to get your soul back. I guess nobody else in this world can save you but me!"

Miles looked like he was in his twenties, with thick brows, big eyes, and keen features.

At this moment, he was mumbling to himself while doing something that was anything but normal. It was quite eerie and unsettling.

The woman suddenly sat upright before collapsing back down just as suddenly.

The two nurses who had brought in the body were so stunned, they froze for a moment before sprinting out screaming.

"Somebody! Help!"

"Security! Director! There's a corpse coming back to life in the morgue!"

"Dr. Thompson! Your crazy husband is doing something bizarre to a corpse!"

Miles paid no attention to the commotion.

He quickly pressed the top of the dead woman's head using a strange technique with his thumb and four fingers in a cross formation at the Center Gate Point and Four Seraphic Points. After that, he started pressing her chest again.

Soon, hurried footsteps echoed at the door.

The hospital director, Daniel Smith, rushed in, flanked by several doctors and security guards, with panicked looks on their faces.

"What are you doing?! Get your hands off her!" Daniel shouted in anger.

Miles turned his head and looked at them, but didn't stop what he was doing. "I'm treating her!"

A lot of doctors at the hospital recognized him. He was the "crazy husband" of the hospital's most beautiful doctor, Rena Thompson.

Everyone felt sorry for Rena more than once. She was gorgeous, but she had married a man with a mental condition. Today, that pity went through the roof.

That body was Jenny Scott, daughter and heiress to the richest family in Surfington.

The Scotts had already blamed the hospital for Jenny's sudden death that morning. Now, with the corpse being mistreated, to say things were going to blow up was an understatement.

Rena almost fainted on the spot. What Miles did was catastrophic!

Since their marriage, her parents had always watched over Miles because of his mental condition.

However, something came up today, and they had to leave him at the hospital with Rena for a while. Unfortunately, she had to leave him at the nurses' station to handle an emergency.

Who could have thought that he would end up in the morgue and do something like this?

"Get your hands off her!" Daniel yelled and lunged forward, wanting to pull Miles away.

Miles frowned and pushed Daniel away. "If I stop now, she'll really die!"

Daniel stumbled and landed hard on the floor on his buttocks.

This fool! Madman! Psycho! He thought he was a doctor? Didn't he realize he was the one sick in the head?

Daniel glared at Rena angrily. "Why won't you get your crazy husband out of here already? Or do you really want the Scotts to sue all of us?"

Rena finally snapped out of her shock. "Miles!"

She rushed forward to pull Miles's hands off Jenny's chest.

But the instant her hand touched Jenny, her heart skipped a beat, and she felt a chill. She could feel a heartbeat from the supposed corpse.

Rena pressed where Jenny's heart would be once more, this time with more precision. Her eyes opened even wider, filled with astonishment.

"She has a pulse!"

Daniel froze, then quickly put on his stethoscope and placed the chest piece on Jenny's chest as he listened. He went pale with disbelief, then shouted, "Quick, get her back to the emergency room!"

"I'm not done treating her! You can't take her yet!" Miles tried to stop them again.

"You're not treating anyone!" Daniel barked, refusing to believe any of Miles's nonsense.

He was sure it was all just a massive mistake… Somebody had sent a living person to the morgue by accident. That was a major medical negligence!

The panicked group rushed Jenny away, leaving only Rena and Miles behind.

"What are you doing here?" Rena's anger boiled over.

She wanted nothing more than to take out all her frustration on the man who had just brought her so many problems and humiliated her.

"I came to treat her," Miles said seriously.

That was enough to almost make Rena lose her temper.

Rena gritted her teeth for a long time before realizing she was being too harsh with him.

What was the point of scolding someone who wasn't mentally there? It was her own fault for not keeping a closer eye on him!

She took a deep breath. "Come on. Let's look at how Jenny is doing first, then I'll take time off and take you home."

Miles cleared his throat. "I'm better now! I can go home by myself."

Rena's eyes widened in disbelief. "You… You got better?"

Miles nodded. "My mind suddenly cleared up just now and I remembered everything!"

"If you've gotten better, then why did you go to the morgue?" Rena looked at him suspiciously.

There was always a chance to recover with the help of medicine, but…

"I've said it three times already. I went to treat her," Miles answered.

Rena's expression froze. She suddenly felt like a fool for even asking.

Why would she believe the words of a person with a mental condition? Who in their right mind would go to the morgue to give the dead any medical treatment? Miles wasn't a doctor before his illness, either.

As they talked, Miles found himself studying Rena.

She really was beautiful! Her facial features were delicate and refined, her eyes bright and brilliant like stars. Even the white coat couldn't hide her curves.

'Not bad,' Miles thought to himself. It wasn't bad having her as his wife.

Rena sighed and stopped the argument. She grabbed Miles by the arm and hurried him toward the emergency room.

The two had just reached the entrance when Daniel came out, looking pleased and chatting with a nurse at the door.

When he spotted Rena, his smile vanished, and he put on the face of a superior. "You're suspended!"

Rena frowned. "What?"

"Jenny was sent to the morgue by mistake. That's medical negligence, and someone has to take responsibility. You were the emergency room doctor on duty this morning," Daniel said bluntly.

Rena's face flushed with anger. "You treated her from the start, and you were the one who signed off on her report! You notified her family, too! How is this my fault?"

Daniel curled his lip and pointed at Miles. "Then I'll just tell the Scotts what your husband did to Jenny's body."

Rena's confidence instantly broke. The Scotts were the city's richest family, and Jenny was their only daughter. There was no way Miles would avoid being held responsible if they found out.

"You know exactly what will happen if the Scotts hear about what he did," Daniel threatened, a smug look on his face.

Rena was silent for a long time before forcing herself to ask, "Is she still alive?"

"Of course. Otherwise, do you think Miles would still be standing here?" Daniel replied.

Rena was shaking with anger now. This time, even Miles seemed to understand what was happening.

Jenny had originally been misdiagnosed and was sent to the morgue. The Scotts had already been notified, so there was no hiding it.

Someone had to take the fall, and it was clearly going to be Rena. Meanwhile, the one who had actually made the mistake would get to play the savior!

Miles let out a laugh and clapped. "If shamelessness were a skill, you'd no doubt win the championship."

Daniel shot him a look, but he couldn't be bothered to argue. He was the hospital director, after all. Why waste words on a mentally ill man?

"You really think you're the one who saved Jenny?" Miles sneered.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Daniel was starting to look upset. Miles was acting way too normal for someone who was supposed to be crazy.

Miles snorted. "Exactly what I said. You want my wife to take the fall? Fat chance."

Daniel was about to explode, but a commotion from inside the emergency room caught his notice before he could say anything. A nurse burst out, panic written all over her face.

"Director, something's wrong! We're losing the patient again…!"

Zack's paternal grandfather and maternal grandfather were both retired high-ranking officials. They were lifelong connoisseurs of the finest wine and tea. Venus and the others were also bluebloods who had grown up around luxury. To them, Miles was a nobody. He was just an orphan; they assumed he had never even tasted tea of this quality, let alone had the right to comment on it.Zack didn't bother to hide his sarcasm. He was waiting for Miles to embarrass himself.Rena frowned, feeling increasingly awkward. She couldn't understand why Miles insisted on contradicting everyone. Not knowing about tea wasn't shameful, since she herself didn't know much either. However, showing off just for attention made her feel embarrassed.Miles sighed. The truth was that tea culture was nothing new to him. His father had loved tea, and he had grown up drinking good tea, too. Later in university, he had the opportunity to read the Manual of Tea and other literary works, so he fully understood wh

"What a weird name," Venus muttered.Zack smiled and started to explain. "The Blue Zephyr is a famous tea variety that goes all the way back to the Capetian Dynasty in the 12th century. The process included being steamed and pressed. It was celebrated as the two best teas together with the White Resin. Kings and ministers of ages past all praised the Blue Zephyr as great tea.""You know so much about culture, Zack! Not like us, we don't know anything about this at all…" Venus said, giving Zack exactly the praise he wanted as he beamed. He proclaimed himself as one from a scholarly family, after all."Music, chess, penmanship, painting, poetry, wine appreciation, horticulture, and tea culture… Those were the eight refined arts the cultivated should master. I'm into the classics, just like Rena," Zack said.Rena shook her head. "Venus just got me interested. I'm just curious, so I don't know much yet."While they chatted, Miles just sat there quietly, not saying a word.Suddenl

Miles hesitated for a moment. He knew Condor's intentions were good. The man had just spent two hundred thousand dollars to protect him, after all. Not wanting to seem ungrateful, Miles quietly followed Rena out the door.Downstairs, Venus was already waiting in front of a sleek black car. When she saw Miles, she shot Rena a questioning look.Rena's face was expressionless. "This is my friend, Venus Jackson. You two should get to know each other.""Did he really get better?" Venus clearly knew about Miles's situation.Rena nodded.Venus smiled, still unimpressed. Even if Miles was cured, he was just a penniless orphan. He didn't look that good, either. How could he deserve someone like Rena?"Hello," Miles said calmly, reaching out his hand.Venus ignored him and went straight for the driver's seat. "Get in. Zack and the others are already waiting for us.""Zack's there?" Rena hesitated at the name.Venus grinned. "It's just tea, don't overthink it."Not wanting to ruin her best frie

"My crew stirred up some trouble at the hospital today. I've already dealt with them," Samuel said, stepping back respectfully. "No one will bother you ever again. These gifts are a small gesture of my apology, and I'm now asking for your forgiveness."With the gifts stacked at the door, Condor finally believed Samuel was truly there to apologize."That's enough, apology accepted. You can go now," Miles called out from behind the crowd.Samuel nodded quickly and led his men away, disappearing as quickly as they had arrived. As soon as they were gone, Helen turned pale and let out a shaky breath. "That was terrifying! That man's aura is so frightening!"Condor just stared at the mountain of gifts. "We shouldn't accept all this from him. We need to return them!""They should pay for scaring my wife!" Miles said, dragging the boxes inside without waiting for permission.Helen snapped, "Pay what? Your dad has already paid two hundred thousand dollars to your Uncle Herman to find so

Milo froze the moment he saw Samuel. Could the casino manager really be so influential as to bring Samuel Howard here in person?"Mr. Howard's here himself! You're dead meat now!" Milo hissed at Miles as he clenched his teeth, but all Miles could give him was a sympathetic look.To everyone's surprise, Miles calmly stepped out from the corner and called out to Samuel. And then… the infamous Mr. Howard, who was untouchable in Milo's eyes, instantly broke into a smile and jogged over, reaching out to shake Miles's hand."I was a blind man before this, Mr. Clark. I came here myself to make things right and apologize!" As soon as he got close, Samuel gripped Miles's hand tightly. "Every word you said has come true. You are truly a remarkable man!"Milo's jaw dropped. Not only was Samuel not here to back him up, but the man was also practically kissing Miles' feet!Miles chuckled before pointing at Milo and his crew. "That's a way to apologize." Samuel froze for a second. "But… I d

"If he's the district chief, then I'm the deputy of the Department of Public Safety!" Milo sneered. "Who hasn't lied before?"Normally, if someone dropped the word chief, Milo might have gotten nervous. But this time, Terry had promised him that he could keep the entire one hundred thousand if he managed to get them back.Milo owed the casino more than eighty grand. If he couldn't pay up, he was as good as dead. That was why he didn't care if Herman was really a chief or not."Seriously... If you don't pay up, I'll stick this into every one of you right here tonight!" Milo snarled as he flashed a knife. The whole crew he brought along were all desperate gamblers. They had all given up on being afraid, not to mention they didn't know just how influential a deputy chief was supposed to be.To show he meant business, Milo slapped Herman several more times.Miles watched lazily as his uncle got beaten up. He found this entire situation quite funny. Did this count as Herman doing him
