Shadows of deception

During the ride back home, Yvonne couldn't help but feel uneasy about the whole situation at hand. What was Chris trying to do to her some moments ago, she wondered. The thought of quitting her job surged through her but she waved it off, hastily.

The uneasiness of keeping a secret from her best friend hunted her inner subconsciousness.

But she couldn't just quit the job. She was full of determination and ready to braze whatever the outcome maybe. She could perceive a hint of where this was leading to and Chris's malicious behavior.

She came back from the abroad to find herself something doing and for a period of time couldn't secure a job for herself, originally living off David's income. She didn't want to be taking advantage of David's kindness. Quitting would only bring up the suspicious movement going on since her day one at work.
