Pearl’s pov~
The words clearly written on the paper jolted me up with the speed of lightning.
“A divorce?” I inquired, I ran to my husband who wouldn't look at me and Devina pushed me off before I could reach him.
“He is mine now Pearl, the next time you touch him again I'll make sure you regret it you barren whore!”
Those words penetrated my brain and like instincts I raised my hand to her face, a loud slap echoed amidst the room.
“How dare you try to come between Logan and me! Logan, are you just going to stand there? A divorce” I cried.
He pushed me away and I landed on the sofa opposite with a thud.
Tears streamed down my face.
“After everything! Logan, I sold my company to be with you! My parents disowned me because I married you! And now a divorce? You can't do this to me please!”
Logan was quiet, “ No one asked you to do all that, you just wanted to be a Davis-Malone so bad, and you can't even bear children so useless!” Abigail laughed.
“I'm glad my son finally got someone else pregnant, you have been a burden from the start.” she finished before pointing at the papers.
“Sign it pearl, we’ve hurt logan enough, we shouldn't have started this affair, I'm so sorry, but your wife just couldn't get enough of me”
His brother came next.
What the hell is going on? Am I being framed? Who put Liam up to this?
With the way Logan’s eyes glared at me murderously, I could tell he believed him.
So I decided to try one last attempt to save my marriage, for the sake of my child.
I crawled to him and clung to his pants.
“Logan, please don't leave me! Please! I can't live without you! I love you! It's all a lie, a misunderstanding…..”
He kicked my hand away from his body and banged his fist against the wall, shocking everyone present.
“Sign the goddamn papers pearl! I want you out of my house tonight!”
He thundered as he did lighting struck in the sky outside, and the weather had turned grey.
“Even our ancestors don't want you here anymore” Abigail snickered.
I was speechless, how did it get to this?
A few hours ago I was the happiest wife in the world, and now my world is shattered. My husband got another woman pregnant and now he wants a divorce. How can I accept this?
Maybe if I beg a little more……
I fell to my knees again, my hands pressed together as I pleaded for mercy from my husband.
Devina laughed and crouched down to where I was
“ So pathetic, no one would believe you were ever the Ceo of a Fortune 500 company, now see what you have been reduced to” she started before placing the paper in front of me.
“Sorry it had to come to this, sign these papers pearl so Logan can finally be done with you, you are no longer wanted in this family” she finished before getting up.
I looked up teary-eyed, it seemed Logan had made his choice.
But I won't accept it, this is not the man I fell in love with.
“No, I won't sign it! Logan look at me and tell me you don't love me anymore! It'll be a cold day in hell before I sign this divorce paper!” I yelled before running out of the study.
I bolted up the stairs and soon I heard footsteps following me.
“Come down here pearl!” I heard Abigail’s croaking voice echo through the quiet halls.
I locked myself in my bedroom and leaned against the door.
I can't believe this is happening.
How can Logan believe these lies? How long have they been together?
These questions hovered around my head, my head and my heart unable to accept reality.
Soon a loud bang on the door followed
“Pearl! Come out here right now!” I heard Logan yell as he banged continuously.
“No! I'm not throwing away four years of our marriage for their lies! Logan, they are lying to you, I never cheated on you!”
But my cries fell on deaf ears as the banging intensified.
“You are only worsening your situation dearest, come out and sign the papers” I heard Abigail’s happy tone.
I started to tremble and panic as they kicked the door aggressively.
“Why are you doing this to me? I never did anything wrong, I was a good wife to you Logan!” I cried, memories of the blissful first 2 years of our marriage flooded my thoughts.
“You can't give me what I want pearl! Now I know why, You are a whore and you can keep whoring outside the walls of my ancestor’s resting place, you will sign those papers today”
With that, the doors came down and an angry Logan came in.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me toward the cupboard, squeezed it tightly
“Logan you are hurting me!” I cried.
He slammed the papers against the door and Devina came in with the pen pointing at me.
“Nowhere else to Run Mrs Davis-Malone,” she smiled.
“I'll give you one more chance to piss me the hell off before I throw you out of this window” he pointed at the storm outside.
“Trust me, your parents won't care if you are dead, that much has been proven”
The words out of his mouth pierced my soul, after all, I had to go through to be with him, he betrayed me this way.
“Tell me you don't love me anymore and I'll sign it”
He put the pen in my hand and tapped the paper, “Your signature, right now I don't want you anymore, you need to go”
My heart was broken I gave him what he wanted, he smiled and gestured to the guard to seize me.
“Throw her out” he instructed, I was defeated and speechless as they grabbed my arm, too weak to put up a fight anymore.
“There’s a storm outside Logan surely she can leave in the morning?” Liam said in my defence, I turned to look at him, clear murderous eyes stared at him.
“If you wish to join her be my guest, I'll have it arranged!” he yelled before taking Devina’s hand.
“It's been you all this while, taking care of me, loving me, you Devina im sorry I didn't see it sooner, will you marry me?”
I heard my husband propose right in front of me.
She smiled and nodded her head before Abigail erupted in a cheer.
He leaned down close to her and pressed his lips on hers, kissing each other in a way I've only known him to kiss me that way.
My world was destroyed, betrayed and hurt. I silently prayed for revenge.
“What are you waiting for?, throw her out! I've got a wedding to plan” I heard him say.
Not long after I was hurled out of the Davis-Malone estate, I landed with my belly on the pavement with nothing to my name.
I'd given up everything to be this man’s wife and now I've been discarded like a piece of rag.
The rain poured down heavily and it was cold.
I tried to get up and my legs quivered in shock, I held the walls of the gate and gathered myself.
“Aaaarrghh!” I felt a sharp pain from my belly to my legs and back.
I felt a warm liquid sticking between my thighs.
I looked down hoping it was not what I thought it was, I touched between my thighs and raised my fingers to my horrified eyes
Blood…….
Pearl’s pov~The day of the pageant finally came. August was by my side as usual; he never left my side, not for one day.“Are you ready?” he asked, kissing my lips gently.I shivered under his touch. “Yeah, I am,” I smiled.“You don't have to do it if you don't want to,” he smiled back.“How are you okay with all of this, August? I'm a married woman with a baby on the way. It feels too good to be true,” I said, touching his long hair. All he did was look at me intensely and smile.“I'm not worried about anything; as long as we are together, I'm fine,” he said.“Oh August, I honestly don't deserve you,” I continued before touching his face. But all I wanted to hear at that moment was Pearlita…He took my hand and helped me up. He looked at me and he was awestruck. “You look so stunning, Pearl, so beautiful. Are you ready for your first debut? You are, after all, the face of DM Holdings,” he bragged.“No, that’s a lie Devina, all of a sudden I'm the evil mistress who won't let the ex g
Devina’s pov~I read the headline again, Rival partner Logan Davis Malone offers his 5million dollar yatch to ceo Pearl D’Angelo for peagent, amidst separation rumours from his pregnant fiancée, Miss Devina Daniels.“He did what?” I crumpled the newspaper in my hands and threw it to the ground. My sister came from around the corner, her eyes bright from her early morning jog.“What’s got you so worked up?” she asked, I fumed and pointed to the crumpled up paper on the floor beside her feet. She leaned down to pick it up, she read it and she laughed.“What’s so funny?” I asked trying to get up with my 37 weeks old belly.“Well I did tell you shitvwas going to hit the fan sooner or later, why on earth did you leave?” my sister Desiree asked, “It was getting to dangerous, I was involved in some diabolical shit I had to skip town” I replied.“Then maybe stop worrying about it and focus on your baby” she replied putting her ear pods away.“This is serious Desiree, there’s a bitch on my as
PEARL’S POV~CHAPTER: Ultrasound & Unraveling“You ratted me out to Kenji!” came a thunderous roar, Sophie was startled.I turned around and there she was Akira Watanabe, a ghost from my past. She looked furious, bloodthirsty anger surged through her, and Sophia looked scared.“Can we talk in the hallway you are scaring her” I always felt uneasy in hospitals because there was too much quietness for such painful places. With my palm lying over my bloated stomach, I strolled alone across the clean hallway. Kira was in a downward spiral about something, something I had no hand in.“What the hell are you talking about Akira?” I asked. She scoffed “back to formalities now are we?” she asked, “you are scaring my child,” I retorted.“Which of them because from the look of things you and Nico have been busy” she spat.“Why are you here Kira? You wanted nothing to do with me, remember? So why are you here?”“Did you rat me out to Kenji?” she asked. I was shocked by her statement, “how the h
NICO’S POV~I waited for Adam at the usual spot for over 3 hours, and the bastard didn't show up. This was his usual shenanigans, and I wasn't up for it.I turned to leave when I noticed a black sedan heading in my direction. I stopped and waited, hoping it was my sleek consigliere driving towards me.The car stopped in front of me, and he got out. He wore a black suit with a pink tie. I sighed. Something about him will always tick me off.“Hi, boss,” he greeted before extending an arm to me. “Adam, you said it was urgent? What the hell is so urgent that you couldnt tell me over the phone” Someone like Adam shouldn't have been noticed in the alley behind La Rue d'Or. His smell was too refined, his outfit too immaculate. However, he remained unflinching when the shadows shifted and I appeared like a menacing specter dressed in pricey wool."You're late to your own fucking meeting, Adam!" I stated in a foreboding tone.Adam looked at his timepiece. "No, I'm not. You simply lack patienc
PEARL’S POV~I wasnt going to rest, no not when a vulture perched and waited for my carcass at my doorstep, with Camille gone, the D’angelo mansion was eerily still.Which made me wonder, what if camille never really left, this house used to belong to Langdon moseley, and cammile and her dead sister grew up here.So what if somehow she was still here, I reached for my phone and called August.“Hey, Pearl, sleep okay?” he asked. I sighed, “Yesterday was wild even for me but I had to do it, im watching TV right now and all I can see is my epic failure as a CEO, some people are saying I resigned to be a supermodel” I managed a small laugh.“In your condition, I don't think it's safe enough for you to keep engaging in risky situations,” he said.“I know that August, trust me but I'll never get the peace I deserve with Camille still out there, where is she now?” I asked “Give me a second let me check, she hadnt moved from the funeral place before i slept off” he yawned.“Were you up all n
Pearl's POV~They say Grief only knows how to wear black. I said, Fuck it, and I decided to go with red.It was audacious, and people whispered before I had uttered a word, their eyes pressed on the slippery silk that hugged every curve. A pageant launch wasn't usually held at a funeral, but I wasn't your average widow. Camille was aware that Nico wasn't dead. But she was willing to take that chance to see him one last time if, truly, she was obsessed with him.Throwing my husband a funeral despite knowing he was alive would make her curious enough to know if Nico is truly dead. The headlines were already half written: *CEO Widow Honors Late Husband Nicolas D’Angelo. It was part trap and part theater. "Pearl," Adam called from beside me, adjusting the gold-trimmed suit I had asked him to wear. "This feels insane," he criticized with a shake of his head."That's the idea," I replied with a gentle smile, pinning a crimson carnation to his lapel. "We need Camille to feel comfortabl
