Chapter 5

Jocelyn’s gaze flashed as she said, “Yes, I know what to say. Didn’t you tell me everything during our call this afternoon?”

Howard nodded in satisfaction.

At the venue of the press conference.

Howard sat beside Jocelyn shamelessly. “Everyone, please calm down. We’re going to clarify the truth about the rumors that broke out in the entertainment news today afternoon. I was just sending a friend over to the Civil Affairs Bureau. I didn’t get a marriage certificate with someone else like everyone has accused me of doing.”

“My relationship with Jocelyn has always been perfectly well. I hope all of you don’t come up with groundless speculations to ruin our relationship. Otherwise, I’ll take legal action to protect my own rights! Everyone can start asking questions now!”

A reporter immediately cut to the chase. “Miss White, do you believe in President Jung’s words? Did you really not realize that he was cheating on you just like they mentioned online?”

Jocelyn smiled faintly and said, “Howard and I have always been extremely loving. I believe in him. He has explained things to me before. He did a good deed by fetching his university classmate’s girlfriend over to get her marriage certificate. I hope everyone can believe in him as well!”

During the press conference, Jocelyn and Howard suddenly appeared in front of the public eye as an extremely loving couple.

Jocelyn got up after the press conference. Suddenly, she caught sight of Skyler’s assistant, who was standing among the crowd of reporters.

Her heart lurched as she was instantly stunned. She had been pretending to be a loving couple in front of the media. Would Skyler be unhappy because of that?

Once the press conference ended, Jocelyn headed to the design department to complete her design draft.

While she was working on the draft, Howard called her and asked her to hand the draft over to him. She installed a pinhole camera on the button of her shirt before sending the draft over to him.

When Skyler’s assistant came to fetch Jocelyn at 7 p.m., she was still working on the design draft.

She rushed downstairs as soon as she received his call.

When the car door opened, she caught sight of Skyler, who was seated at the backseat of his car.

Jocelyn was dazed for a moment. She then rushed into the car. “Mr. Moore, you’re here!”

Skyler glanced at her as a sense of amusement tinged his calm gaze. “It’s our first night as husband and wife tonight. Are you sure you’re still going to address me as President Moore or Mr. Moore?”

Jocelyn blushed and said, “Then…Skyler…Moore!”

Skyler frowned.

Jocelyn’s face flushed a darker tone of red. “Hus…band?”

Skyler’s gaze flashed as he glanced at her vaguely. “Not bad!”

Jocelyn lowered her head as her neck flushed red. It was a pity that she did not notice Skyler’s unchanging gaze.

She lowered her head and remained silent like a snail.

Skyler asked thoughtfully, “I heard that you’re in a loving relationship with Howard Jung.”

Jocelyn stiffened at once. She immediately raised her head and explained herself in a rush. “Things aren’t like that. I was just acting!”

Skyler still had a calm expression on his face. “I recall that you were the one who took the photos of Howard Jung and that woman leaving the Civil Affairs Bureau!”

Jocelyn’s expression changed as a hateful tone filled her voice. “That isn’t enough. How can letting him be called a traitor and a scumbag be enough to resolve the hatred in my heart?”

She loved with all of her heart when she loved someone, but she also hated with all her heart when she hated someone!

Skyler raised his brow without saying anything. However, he was judging Jocelyn in his heart. She was stubborn and headstrong. She also drew the line between love and hate extremely clearly.

It seemed like it would not be a good idea for him to involve himself in her matters since she wanted to take revenge personally so badly.

At night, Skyler brought Jocelyn to his personal suite in his penthouse straight away after dinner.

As soon as Jocelyn opened the door, she caught sight of the red rose petals scattered all across the bed. Her face instantly flushed as red as a tomato. “This is…”

Skyler raised his head and walked inside. “It adds to the ceremonial atmosphere of our first night together as husband and wife. My assistant prepared all this!”

Jocelyn walked into the room while blushing furiously. She then closed the door at once.

Skyler started taking off his clothes casually. “I’ll take a bath first. Do you mind?”

Jocelyn shook her head immediately. She inched closer to the wall like a tortoise. “No!”

Skyler walked to the door of the bathroom without a shirt on. Suddenly, he turned around and looked at Jocelyn, who was leaning against the wall. “Are you…shy?”

Jocelyn did not know where she had gotten the courage to speak to him in such a stubborn tone while blushing. “I’m not shy!”

Skyler could not resist teasing her after looking at her. “If you aren’t shy, why are you blushing?”

Jocelyn’s face instantly flushed redder!

Just then, Skyler’s phone suddenly rang.

The tension in the atmosphere between them dissipated at once. Skyler picked up his phone and glanced at it. It was another call from Josie.

He frowned slightly and said, “I’ll leave first!”

Jocelyn was stunned. Was Skyler Moore…unhappy?

Right, she had suggested that they should get married so that she had another path to choose from. Now that they were legally married, Skyler told her that she had to carry out her responsibilities as his wife.

Since she was being so awkward around him right now, he would definitely find her despicable!
