ALEISTER

“ The Princess was livid. ” Draven chuckles as he takes a seat opposite me.

I look away from the papers placed on the desk in front of me, casting him a glance. His curved lips press in a thin line. He knows better than to utter fucking nonsense in front of me.

I return to signing the papers, as her face keeps flashing before my eyes. Her desire for revenge is not to be taken lightly but what can a pampered princess like her do in a place like this? Eventually, she will have to give in to me and her new life here whether she likes it or not.

“ So you believe she won’t snoop around after what happened tonight? That she will fear you enough to not…discover the secrets we are hiding? ” Draven can’t keep his mouth shut for a long time. It’s his only weakness.

I remain silent because I genuinely doubt that she will sit tight instead of letting her thoughts run free.

“ What if she finds out that you are her fated mate? ” He sighs, running a hand through his hair.

Aleister also mentions Avery feeding his “bloodthirsty monster”that is half of him. Sounds like a vampire because wolves are not bloodthirsty. Then there’s the brother Draven, he’s supposed to be dead to the world. So much intrigue here. Can’t wait to start unwrapping it all. Glad I reread the chap.

I had to go back and reread this chapter and the next. I’m really getting some Zero hybrid vibes with the dark shadows roaming around Aleister. There’s a lot of mystery going on in the South. Is he a vampire as well? I remember Avery saying his eyes looked dark with veins around them. Dark magic.
