CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY

I’m reluctant to give Brandon the benefit of doubt. But I was right when it came to trusting Adriana. She never betrayed us, someone else did. And so far, my instincts have been spot on.

So, we let him walk to the fire. He slowly removes food from the pack he brought out with him. He starts to cook as Lucas and I watch him carefully.

As he cooks, it gives me time to pick up on his demeanor. I may not be an Alpha anymore, but it’s still in blood. It still helps me know who I can trust.

Once breakfast is finished, we all sit together as kin. I don’t touch my food yet though. I want to hear what he has to say first. He looks us straight in the eyes, like he wants us to see the truth within him.

“I am a rouge wolf,” he admits.

My body stiffens. I think of Adam. Rouge wolves are dangerous.

“But through no fault of my own,” he quickly continues. “I was part of a pack that’s rather hidden but strong. The Snowy Mountain Pack.”
