Chapter 3: The Blood They Feared

The street was silent.

Too silent. To the point that even a drop of pin could be heard any where you are.

Rain continued to fall lightly, tapping against the pavement as dozens of armed soldiers surrounded Ethan and Raven. The glow of their weapon lights cut through the darkness like sharp blades.

But no one fired.

Because two massive Hunters stood between them and their target.

Ethan’s heart was pounding so hard like a losed bull with out control and he could feel it in his ears.

The creatures stood beside him like statues of muscle and claws. Their enormous bodies blocked most of the alley, their silver eyes glowing faintly in the rain.

Ethan slowly lowered his raised hand.

The monsters didn’t move.

They waited.

Like soldiers awaiting an order.

“This… this doesn’t make any sense,” Ethan whispered.

Raven stood beside him, her blue eyes locked on the Hunters with disbelief.

“You’re controlling them,” she said quietly.

“I’m not doing anything!” Ethan replied.

But deep inside, he knew that wasn’t completely true.

Something inside him had awakened.

Something powerful.

Something ancient.

Across the street, the hunter leader’s expression had changed completely. The calm confidence he once had was gone.

Now he looked cautious.

Even nervous.

He studied Ethan carefully.

“So it’s real,” the man said slowly. “The rumors were true after all.”

Ethan frowned.

“What rumors?”

The man ignored the question.

Instead, he spoke to his soldiers.

“Stand down.”

Several of the soldiers hesitated.

“But sir—”

“I said stand down.”

Reluctantly, the soldiers lowered their weapons slightly.

But they did not leave.

The hunter leader stepped forward slowly, his eyes never leaving Ethan.

“Do you know what you are?” he asked.

Ethan shook his head.

“No. But everyone tonight seems to think I’m something important.”

The man smiled faintly.

“You are more than important.”

Raven suddenly stepped in front of Ethan.

“Don’t listen to him,” she said.

The hunter leader laughed softly.

“Oh, I think he deserves the truth.”

His eyes returned to Ethan.

“For centuries, our organization has searched for a very specific bloodline.”

Ethan’s stomach tightened.

“What bloodline?”

The man gestured toward the Hunters standing beside Ethan.

“The one that created them.”

Ethan blinked in confusion.

“Created them?”

“Yes.”

The man folded his hands behind his back.

“Long ago, before modern civilization, there were people who possessed extraordinary abilities. They could control creatures from another realm.”

He nodded toward the Hunters.

“Creatures like these.”

Ethan slowly looked at the massive beasts standing beside him.

“You’re saying… people used to control monsters?”

“Not people,” the man corrected.

“A specific family.”

Raven’s voice cut in sharply.

“That bloodline is extinct.”

The hunter leader smirked.

“That’s what we believed.”

His eyes shifted back to Ethan.

“Until tonight.”

The words hit Ethan like a punch to the chest.

“You’re saying… I’m part of that family?”

“Not part of it,” the man replied.

“You are the last descendant of it.”

Ethan felt the world tilt slightly.

“That’s impossible.”

“You just commanded two Hunters,” the man said calmly. “That ability only belongs to one bloodline.”

Raven clenched her fists.

“Enough.”

The hunter leader tilted his head.

“You knew, didn’t you?”

Raven didn’t answer.

Ethan looked at her.

“You knew about this?”

She hesitated.

Then finally spoke.

“Yes.”

The word hit him harder than anything else that night.

“You knew?” Ethan repeated.

“I suspected,” she corrected quickly.

“Suspected?!” he said. “You dragged me into this mess because of a suspicion?!”

Raven’s voice softened slightly.

“I was trying to protect you.”

“From what?!”

The hunter leader answered instead.

“From us.”

Ethan looked back at the man.

“Why do you want me?”

The hunter leader’s smile slowly returned.

“Because your blood is the key to something far greater.”

Raven’s expression darkened.

“Don’t tell him.”

But the man ignored her.

“There is a gate hidden somewhere in this world,” he said.

“A gate that leads to another realm.”

Ethan felt a chill run through him.

“A realm filled with creatures far more powerful than these Hunters.”

He gestured to the monsters beside Ethan.

“And your bloodline is the only one capable of opening it.”

Ethan stared at him in disbelief.

“You want me to open a monster door?”

“Not want,” the man said.

“Need.”

Raven stepped closer to Ethan.

“Don’t believe a word he says.”

But the hunter leader simply smiled.

“You don’t understand your own value yet.”

His voice lowered slightly.

“But you will.”

Suddenly—

One of the soldiers shouted.

“Sir!”

Everyone turned.

The first Hunter suddenly lifted its head.

Its body trembled slightly.

Ethan felt it too.

A strange pulse inside his chest.

Like something was calling to him.

The second Hunter growled softly.

Raven’s eyes widened.

“Oh no…”

Ethan looked at her.

“What?”

She whispered one word.

“Alpha.”

The hunter leader’s expression immediately changed.

“That’s impossible,” he said.

Then the ground shook.

Harder this time.

A deep roar echoed from somewhere beyond the buildings.

But this roar was different.

Stronger.

Ancient.

Every soldier instantly panicked.

“What the hell was that?!” one shouted.

Even the two Hunters beside Ethan lowered their massive bodies in fear.

Raven grabbed Ethan’s arm.

“We have to leave now.”

“Why?”

Her voice was deadly serious.

“Because if that creature finds you…”

Ethan swallowed.

“What creature?”

Another roar shook the city.

Closer.

Much closer.

Raven’s voice dropped to a whisper.

“The king of the Hunters.”

The hunter leader turned pale.

“No… it can’t be awake already.”

Ethan looked around nervously.

“What does that mean?”

Raven looked straight into his glowing silver eyes.

“It means the moment your power awakened…”

“You called something far worse.”

The roar thundered again.

And this time…

The entire street began to crack.

Far above them, something enormous moved across the rooftops.

Watching.

Waiting.

Hunting.

Ethan felt the ancient voice inside him whisper again.

It has come for you.

Episode 49: THE ENEMY THAT LEARNED TO CHOOSE The first thing Ethan noticed after the battle was how quiet the world had become. Not peaceful, because there was still too much damage for anyone to call it peace, but quiet in the strange way a place becomes quiet after something enormous has happened. The broken sanctuary stood beneath a damaged sky, surrounded by shattered stone, abandoned weapons, injured soldiers, and the remains of creatures that had once seemed impossible to defeat. Smoke drifted slowly across the battlefield while people moved among the ruins, helping the wounded and searching for those who were still missing. Nobody celebrated. Nobody had the strength for it. They had survived, but survival had come at a price nobody could calculate yet. Ethan sat on the remains of a broken wall while Raven stood beside him. He was exhausted, but that wasn't what worried him. Something inside his mind had changed. He could still feel humanity through the white divergence, but

Episode 48: THE FUTURE THAT SHOULD NOT EXIST Ethan opened his eyes and immediately knew something was wrong. He was standing on the battlefield, but nothing around him looked familiar anymore. The sanctuary was still there, the broken mountains were still there, Raven was standing several feet away from him, and the fractured sky still stretched across the heavens, yet everything seemed slightly displaced, as though reality had been rebuilt from memory and whoever rebuilt it had forgotten where certain pieces belonged. Ethan looked down at his hands and saw white light moving beneath his skin like living energy. It wasn't burning him, but he could feel billions of choices moving through him at once. Every possibility humanity had created seemed to be passing through his body, and for a moment he couldn't tell which thoughts belonged to him and which belonged to someone else. He heard a child laughing somewhere. He heard an old man praying. He heard a woman calling her brother's na

Episode 47: THE WAR AGAINST THE END The first thing Ethan heard was screaming. Not one voice, but millions of voices layered together, coming from every direction and from places he could no longer understand. The sound did not belong only to humans. Ancient beings, broken worlds, dying timelines, forgotten civilizations and creatures that had existed before Earth all seemed to be crying out at once as the darkness beyond creation opened its eyes fully. Ethan stood inside the mental realm with the Ancient Parasite in front of him, but the place no longer looked the same. The endless darkness that had once belonged to the parasite was breaking apart, and beyond the cracks he could see something much larger moving through existence. The parasite looked toward him and for the first time Ethan understood that the creature wasn't pretending to be afraid. It was terrified. "You have to leave," it said. Ethan frowned. "Why?" The parasite looked over his shoulder. "Because it has see

  • Never Alone    Episode 46

Episode 46: The First Hunger’s Rebellion The First Hunger was a creature of singular purpose. For eons, it had been the apex predator of the multiverse, a skeletal titan that consumed realities as if they were nothing more than appetizers. It had never known doubt. It had never known fear. It only knew the gnawing, endless ache of a void in its own gut that demanded to be filled. But the "Certainty" was not food. But something different and bad to the soul. As the void expanded, the First Hunger found itself paralyzed. It had lunged at the darkness, expecting a feast, only to find that the darkness was an absence so absolute it could not be bitten. The titan’s ancient flames—the same fires that had once burned through the foundation of civilizations—flickered and died upon touching the edge of the void. For the first time since the dawn of time, the Hunger felt a different sensation: *saturation.* It was full. Not because it had eaten, but because it had realized that there wa

Chapter 45: The Chorus of Humanity The silence that followed the stranger’s dissolution was not truly quiet. To anyone sensitive enough to hear it, the atmosphere was screaming. It was the sound of billions of human souls—connected through Ethan’s white divergence—suddenly processing the collective memory of a trillion dead realities. On Earth, the reaction was immediate and terrifying. In New York, a young woman sitting in her apartment dropped her coffee, her eyes rolling back as she saw the birth of a nebula in a galaxy that had been erased before humanity even learned to walk. In a laboratory in Tokyo, a lead researcher felt the cold, clinical despair of a thousand Sovereign-worlds folding in on themselves. They weren't just watching; they were *experiencing*. The barrier between their individual lives and the infinite archives Ethan had absorbed was thin, and it was tearing. "They're drowning," Lucian said, his voice raw. He looked around the battlefield, where the few remai

Chapter 44: The Stranger’s Sacrifice The battlefield was no longer a place of geography; it was a graveyard of concepts. Where once there were mountains and air, there were now only jagged scars in the firmament where reality had been deleted. The mysterious stranger stood at the epicenter, his feet planted on ground that was rapidly losing its consistency. He was no longer the composed, enigmatic observer who had arrived chapters ago. His trench coat was tattered, not from physical combat, but from the attrition of existing too close to the "Certainty." His skin was pale, translucent, as if he were being scrubbed out of existence one layer at a time. He watched Ethan. The boy was convulsing, his body a conduit for the white divergence, currently infused with the dying, spite-filled energy of the Sovereign. It was a volatile mixture—the raw, untamed potential of humanity combined with the cold, refined architecture of a dead god. "He’s going to burn out," the stranger murmured. Hi
