Chapter 2

"Dad, come with me to my room. I have something very important to tell you," I said.

Dad immediately saw that something was off about me, so he followed me into my room.

"What's the matter, Vernon? What's wrong?"

Seeing Dad safe and sound—and still his old self—the fear and grievances of my past life came flooding back to me, and tears began streaming down my face uncontrollably.

"Dad! Mom's trying to harm you! This watch she gave you is cursed. If you wear it, your soul will be swapped with Bryan's! You mustn't touch it at all!"

Dad frowned deeply.

As the CEO holding the reins of his company, he was incredibly astute. In fact, he had long suspected that Mom and Bryan had been having an affair behind his back, but he just put up with it for my sake.

"Tell me everything slowly, Vernon. What exactly is going on?" he asked, gripping my hand tightly.

I told him everything that had happened in my past life, leaving no details out.

As Dad listened to me, his expression shifted from shock to a bone-chilling fury. His eyes turned cold and icy.

After three minutes of silence, he carefully wiped away my tears and said, "I'm sorry for making you suffer because of my foolishness, Vernon. I had actually known about their illicit affair all along, but I never thought that they would do something as evil and vicious as this."

Dad's eyes glinted fiercely and ruthlessly.

"Don't be afraid, Vernon. I won't let them get away with this in this lifetime!"

The anxiety weighing on my heart for a lifetime finally lifted at his words. I'd died a horrible, miserable death all alone in my past life, but in this life, I was joining forces with Dad to make Mom and Bryan pay!

I wiped my tears away as a calculating look flashed in my eyes.

"Dad, I have the perfect plan to thwart their scheme."

Dad immediately leveraged his connections to find a master craftsman specializing in high-end luxury replica timepieces. He sent the craftsman photos of the watch from every angle and even paid him three million dollars to forge it overnight.

While the watch was still being made, Dad put it on for a few seconds and took a photo to send to Mom.

Mom was thrilled, just as we thought, and heaped praise on it, falling right into the trap that we'd set for her.

Dad then made an excuse to leave the villa for a while so Mom wouldn't see through the ruse immediately when she came back. She even naively told him to wear the watch all day, every day, without taking it off.

I went to school the next day and immediately saw my 300-pound classmate, Amber Love, munching on a pepperoni pizza slice while playing games on her phone with a huge grin on her face.

While chewing, her cheeks actually rippled slightly with the movement.

The class bully said with a disgusted look on her face, "Oh my God! At the rate you're eating, you're going to fill up the entire classroom by the next period."

Amber glared at the class bully, put her hands on her hips, and gave her the middle finger.

"Stay the hell out of my business, you bitch. Say another word, and I'll claw your pretty face!"

The class bully just snickered before returning to her seat.

Everyone in school knew that Amber had always wanted to be a man. She thought that she was born into the wrong body. She hated being a woman to her very core and often envied men for not having to worry about their body image.

I walked straight toward her and tapped her lightly on the shoulder. She got a huge shock and turned around at once, looking at me warily.

"What, are you going to make fun of me too?" she asked.

I took out the velvet box from my bag and slid it over to her.

"I'm not here to make fun of you. I'm here to give you a gift."

Amber opened the box suspiciously. Her eyes widened the moment she saw the exquisite watch nestled inside.

"This… This is an expensive brand, isn't it?"

I said slowly, "This watch has been 'blessed' by a medium. It's a magical object now. If you wear this watch for three days straight, it will be able to grant you your biggest wish."

Amber's eyes sparkled at once.

"Really? Does this mean I can turn into a man if I wear this for three days?"

"Yeah. It's better than gender reassignment surgery," I said.

I then added, "But you won't turn into a man your age. You'll probably turn into a man in his early 30s. The kind with handsome features, a muscular frame, and a perfect physique."

I wasn't even done speaking when Amber interrupted me excitedly and said, "I don't mind! I don't mind how old of a man I turn into, as long as I can finally live as a real man!"

She took the watch from the box and put it on at once, treating it like her precious treasure. Then she said, "Don't worry, I won't be taking it off for the next three days! I'll even wear it in the shower and while sleeping at night!"

Over the next few days, Amber protected the watch very well, refusing to let anyone else touch it. She'd immediately get into a huge fight with anyone who tried to get close to it, and she kept a hand over the watch during PE class, worried she might drop it.

I silently counted down the time.

The soul-swapping black magic would be taking effect in just one more day.

It would coincide exactly with the charity gala Mom and Dad were organizing to celebrate their 20th wedding anniversary.
