Ethan POV

A sharp sigh cut through the air before her words did, “Ethan, please tell me this is a joke?” she asked, tapping her finger hardly on the blank paper she held.

She leaned in, her voice low, disbelieving,“ I can't believe you didn't write a single word and your excuse… you slept?” her eyes filled with anger, as her voice grew louder,“ Seriously you slept?”

I lowered my head a little with a defeating chuckle, as I dare not meet those dagger piercings eyes of hers right then, “Yeah, I guess I really have been out of it a lot, huh?”

My evasion only seemed to piss her even off more. I could feel her stare boring into the top of my lowered head, “You think? It's been two weeks, Ethan, since you decided to go MIA on everyone. You're missing classes, you look like you haven't slept well in days, and now you bombed this too?” she waved the empty sheet to my face, her tone suddenly shifted, the anger bleeding to genuine concern,“You do know you can tell me anything right?”
