Aiden pov

I was going to rip someone apart.

Not metaphorically. Not as an empty threat. I was literally going to shift and tear into whoever thought they could threaten my mate and walk away alive.

The rage coursing through my veins was barely contained, my wolf snarling and snapping at my control. Every muscle in my body was tense, coiled, ready to hunt. My canines kept threatening to extend, my eyes flickering gold without my permission.

But I couldn't let Sera see the full extent of my fury.

She sat on the couch in Dad's private quarters—our temporary home until the threat was eliminated—curled into a tight ball with her arms wrapped around her knees. She'd been like that for the past hour, barely speaking, just staring at nothing while fear radiated through the mate bond.

Mom had left ten minutes ago to coordinate with the omega sectors, ensuring everyone knew to report suspicious activity. Dad and Jake were out with the

Shattered Mate Bond: Book 2 VigilAiden pov The medical wing was too quiet. Just the steady beep of Sera's heart monitor, the soft hum of equipment, the whisper of her breathing as she slept off the last effects of the sedative. Dr. Chen had assured me she'd be fine—no permanent damage, the tranquilizer dose was strong but not lethal, she just needed rest. But fine wasn't good enough. She shouldn't be here at all. Shouldn't have a fresh bandage on her ribs where Thomas's knife had cut her. Shouldn't have bruises forming on her throat from his arm. Shouldn't have experienced yet another traumatic attack that would haunt her nightmares for months. My wolf paced restlessly beneath my skin, snarling and snapping, barely contained. He wanted blood. Wanted to hunt down every single conspirator still alive and tear them apart. Wanted to find anyone who'd ever thought threatening our mate was acceptable and make them suffer. The fact that I'd already killed Thomas wasn't enough. Not

Shattered Mate Bond: Book 2 The Trap Springs Sera pov The garden was beautiful in the moonlight—roses blooming despite the autumn chill, the fountain trickling softly, fairy lights strung between the trees casting everything in a warm, deceptive glow. The monthly pack social was in full swing inside the pack house, music and laughter drifting through the open windows. And I sat alone on a stone bench, wearing the pale pink dress Grace had chosen because it made me look "soft and vulnerable"—perfect bait. Except I wasn't alone. Not really. Aiden was twenty feet away, partially hidden by a trellis covered in climbing ivy, his eyes never leaving me. Jake was positioned near the fountain, pretending to be on his phone. Henderson had guards scattered throughout the garden, all in civilian clothes, all watching. But to anyone observing, I looked isolated. Unprotected. An easy target. My heart hammered so hard I was certain everyone could hear it. The mate bond thrummed with A

Shattered Mate Bond: Book 2 Four: Escalation Three more letters in four days. Aiden pov Each one more graphic than the last. More detailed in its descriptions of how they planned to hurt Sera. More specific about when and where they were watching her. *I saw you in the omega sector yesterday. That blue dress made you an easy target. Next time, I won't just watch.* *Your guards can't protect you forever. Everyone sleeps eventually. Even alphas.* *You should have died on that roof. Don't worry—I'll finish the job. Slowly.* The latest one had arrived this morning, tucked into the Luna's private correspondence box—a location that should have been impossible to access without security clearance. Someone with inside knowledge. Someone with authority. I stood in Dad's office, staring at the collection of letters spread across his desk like evidence of my failure. Four death threats in less than a week. Four times someone had gotten close enough to deliver them despite our inc

Shattered Mate Bond: Book 2 Old Wounds, New ThreatsSera pov Two months. Two months since Brittany's execution. Two months since I'd stood in front of the pack and exposed every painful detail of my abuse. Two months of healing, of Luna training with Grace, of slowly learning to walk through the pack house without flinching at shadows. Two months of peace. Until today. I stood in the pack house mail room, a letter trembling in my good hand—the cast had finally come off last week—staring at words that made my blood turn to ice. *You think you're safe now that the bitch is dead? You're not. You never will be. Omegas like you don't deserve to breathe the same air as true pack wolves. Watch your back, Luna. Because I'm watching you. And when you least expect it, I'll finish what Brittany started.* The paper was standard, the handwriting printed to avoid identification, the envelope postmarked from within the pack territory. Someone local. Someone close. Someone who wanted me dea

Shattered Mate Bond: Book 2 Choosing LifeAiden povThe sun had set twenty minutes ago. I knew because I'd been watching the clock on my phone obsessively, tracking each minute that passed. Tracking the moment when Brittany's execution would take place on the other side of the pack territory.Sera knew too. I could feel her awareness through the mate bond—the knowledge that right now, at this exact moment, someone was dying because of what they'd done to her. We'd returned to our suite after the ritual. Mom had offered to stay, but Sera had quietly asked for just the two of us. Jake was posted outside the door—close enough for security, far enough for privacy. Now Sera sat in my lap on the couch, her back against my chest, my arms wrapped around her waist. She was tense, her breathing shallow, clearly trying not to think about what was happening. So I was doing my best to distract her."Tell me about your favorite book," I murmured against her ear, pressing a soft kiss just below it
