Chapter Seventeen

“Nora, you’re not ready!”

She was in a bonnet sipping on a hot cup of coffee in her pink robe and Rebecca was on her way to pick me up with the driver.

“Ready for what?”

“We’re going wedding dress shopping today!”

“That’s not today!”

“Yes it is.” I groaned and paced the length of the kitchen isle.

Nora’s eyes went wide. “That evil witch didn’t tell me she changed the date of the fittings.”

“You have to get changed. I can’t go there alone. Sadie’s going to be there.”

Nora cringed, “Look at me Gia. I’m hours away from being ready.”

The house lady walked in and I knew I was screwed.

“Mrs. Wolfe is here.”

“What do I do?” I hissed.

“You have to go! Now.”

“I can’t do this.” I felt sick to my stomach.

Nora set her coffee down and grabbed my elbow. She dragged me to the door.

“Oh yes you can. You have to show the Wolfe women you might be a Glass but you’re made of stone. You can do this.”

I didn’t know how Nora became my biggest alley in this. I gave her an unsuspecting squeeze. “Thank you.”
