After the Meeting

The meeting was over an hour long, and all the teachers spoke their peace trying to get them to not change the school curriculum. We all tried to make them understand that what and the way we are teaching now is working. Even a few parents had a few things to say how their kids seemed to be doing better at this school than other schools.

All the board members went into a room to discuss the changes and would come back out with a decision. “Are you going to be okay?” I heard the sweet a sweet voice ask.

“Looking down Ella had ahold of my hand while my leg was bouncing up and down with nerves. “Oh, sweet girl! Yes, I will be okay just don’t like change”

“You gave a great speech up there, one hundred percent agree with remembering the past to change the future,” Turner stated looking into my eyes.

“Just hope the board agrees with you on this issue. I don’t mind the work to change things, but don’t want our past forgotten.”

“You care about history more than most teachers I’ve meet,” he stated.

“People should know where they come from, it has been something I have believed in since I read my first history book.”

“I have some very old history books in my home library, that you would like,” my eyes popped out of my head when he said that.

Is he inviting me to his house? Who has a library in their home other than very rich people? Did this man have money? Figures, with a nanny for his he is loaded with women having all over him. Learning over the years that men with money want to use you, then play with your heart. This man is sex on a stick, but there is no way we would work out.

Board members walked back in, about 15 minutes later, this did not look good for me and Vivian. Robert smiled a creepy smile at me as he took his seat. I have a very bad feeling about this outcome, I was not going to enjoy my summer vacation at the beach house. Vivian looked over at me, cause she seen that smile also, she mouthed “Great.” Vivian and I both were so looking forward to lying in the sunshine on Wilmington beach. Now we were going to be inside working on new schedules for next year.

Robert stood as he spoke, “Teachers and Parents we have decided to move forward we need make some changes.”

Turner stood up, “Board members, I was hoping you would make the right decision today. I will be pulling my daughter and my sponsorship from this school system. I for one agree with Miss. Jackson we cannot look forward if we cannot remember that got us here. I think since the children are learning and test scores are proof. As a parent I feel you should leave things alone,”

“Who might you be Sir?” Robert snipped.

“I am Turner Ivy of Ivy Corp. the leading sponsor of this school’s annual fundraiser.”

Hole shot, I bet my eyes were bugging out of my head right now. Not only is this guy rich he owns half the damn town. There is no way this guy would even look my way twice, or have a relationship with a nobody teacher. Here been lusting since I meet this man and it didn’t have anything to do with his money just his sexy a$$.

“Mr. I-I-Ivy,” Robert stuttered. “We need to move forward with change.”

“Wrong answer, mister whatever your name is, Ivy Corp. will be pulling out of this school. The only reason we helped this school was because of the teachers which my daughter liked. This board is making the job harder for teachers.”

Clapping came from around the room, as parents stood up to agree with Mr. Ivy. This was turning out better with the parents here, I don’t think I could thank them enough. For Mr. Ivy to stand up was really amazing, because I have a feeling these women would do anything he asked. They were all looking at him like he was a Christmas Ham, damn he had power in his voice and just flowing out of his body. Damn I wonder what that power could do to my kitty, hell I need get laid. Wonder if this would be willing?

Robert eyed Mr. Ivy as he sat down beside his daughter and then looked at me with a very disturbing look in his eyes. I don’t need him stalking me next year thinking that I am sleeping with Mr. Ivy, no matter how much I want too. Robert can mess with my job so I’ve always played nice never let him see me with other men cause he just worried me. I’ve never let him think we could be anything other than colleagues, but like I’ve said he gives me the creeps.

“Thank you for your out burst Mr. Ivy, but the board had already made a decision. The school curriculum will need to change. All History and Math teachers will submit a new syllabus for approval in 2 weeks,” Robert smiled evil at me.

Looking over at Turner he had his phone out, messaging someone maybe a lady friend. He looked over at his daughter giving her the sweetest smile ever seen on a man. To have a father look at you like that is every little girls dream, my was nothing but a nightmare. If I have children one day this is what I want for them. Wow! That is the first time I’ve thought about having kids, even though I love children. What an effect this man has on me?
