And, that he was gone. He was gone from her side.
Tessa did not realize that she had slept off with tears in her eyes. Until, she woke up to the slow moaning sounds coming from where seemed to be her marital bed room. Her bedroom was right beside the guestroom she was in so she could hear the sounds especially clear.
Tessa felt another pain assault her. It was blinding and overwhelming. She was unable to breath for sometime and it felt as though something was being pulled out of her roughly. It was then she realized something. It seemed Chris and Mona had been having sex all these time that she occasionally felt pain from time to time. It seemed she was being fooled for a long time.
She felt betrayed and used. Once again, the tears begun to flow down from her eyes. She could not tell if she was the only one hearing their loud moans. But, she could not bear it anymore. She could not go back to her room. But, she needed to pack up her stuffs. Tessa could not take it anymore.
She would not be able to stay in the pack house for another day. She could not endure the pain.
Their loud moans persisted and Tessa was forced to block her ears with the pillow while she cried her eyes out.She could not tell how long she had been crying. But eventually, she was stopped by Chris's loud voice as he laughed along with her sister. They seemed to pass by the guest room she laid in.They were done. That was her cue to get her box from the room.Tessa dried up her face with a towel, and hurried to her once matrimonial room. She stuffed in a couple of clothes into her box. When she was sure that she had packed up some necessities, she stared at her once matrimonial bed. She felt a pang in her chest as she looked at the crumpled bedsheets.
She rushed out of the room before fresh tears could resume rushing from her eyes. Then, she remembered something and hurried back into the room. She packed up a couple of dollar note from their bed side drawer and rushed back out.
Tessa needed to run away from everything. From Chris. Mona. The pack… everybody.
She needed to get away as far as she could get.
But where could she go to?Tessa recalled one of her random discussions she had with Chris. She told him that one of the cities she wasn't willing to reside in was New York. Although it was nice to go on vacation there, she couldn't live there.
If he ever needed to search for her, although she knew was impossible. Or, if any of her friends ever organized a search party for her, they would never think of searching New York. It was the best pace for her to run off to.
It was midnight, which made it the best time for her to run off without an eye seeing her. With her single box, a 200 dollar note which she found in the cupboard and no means of communication with anyone in the pack, Tessa snuck out of the palace and into the woods. She looked at the pack house when she was across the fence. And, a tear drop slids down her face. She was going to start a new life at New York city. Away from all the pain.Luckily for Tessa, she found a taxi which was on a midnight journey to New York. She didn't have enough cash on her to take a plane. At first, she was full of vigor and had a plan to follow. But, she soon remembered that she had no one where she was going. She had no place to stay for the night. She contemplated for sometime and decided to stay in an hotel for the night. Then, she would think of what to do when morning came.By the time she arrived at New York, the time was already 6am. She breathed in the new tranquil scent as she stepped down from the cab and was welcomed by a ‘welcome to New York city’ sign board.Having no where to go, Tessa asked a random man at the reception of the bus top, on where she could go next.‘’Wow, we have a new arrival.’’ The old man who sat behind the desk smiled at her.Tessa smiled back at him. "Please I am new here, do you know where I can get an accommodation? Like an hotel or something? Tessa asked with a yawn, she was tired. The man smiled back
Despite the limited moonlight that penetrated through the branches Tessa let out an inward gasp at the size of the wolf.Chris was a huge-sized wolf, but he could not be compared to the wolf that stood before her.Tessa had the feeling, that any further movement of the wolf, could affect an earthquake. Its muscles protruded from his dark fur causing the moonlight to lay its spotlights on them. The eyes of the wolf.At first, she could tell that they were red, but as the wolf took a step toward her, an argument was formed in her mind. The color of those eyes is something she could never quite pinpoint.Calling it red would be a lie, as she spotted a gleam of gold by the side, and a silver color passing like a shadow through his eyeballs with the red color, built up like a burning furnace behind the magical combination.Trying to understand would only add to Tessa’s headache.Tessa took a step backward. She needed to obey her instincts at least once.Even while moving her legs, Tessa fe
Falling back to sleep could be the worse thing she could ever plan to do. Especially after getting a call from her sister. She pictured her sister dressed in a white fitted fishtail wedding gown, adorned with expensive white lace and silver pearls adorned by the hems. Just like the one she had always bragged about, standing beside her ex-husband.An imaginative picture of the smile on their faces before the elder who would officiate them could not devastate her more than the reality of seeing her only sister having sex with her once loving husband. She stared at the ceiling and then back at the floor. There was no drop of tears during her movements. She surely wasn’t going to cry. Not after crying for days after witnessing the betrayal.Tessa jumped off her bed, a glance at the forest outside her room spread a sense of peace down her spine. The one thing that seemed to keep her happy even after witnessing the annoying wolf that refused to end her pain. Her tummy was growling. She hadn
‘’Oh my gosh! Tessa you look so beautiful,’’ Sophie said after pulling Tessa into a hug and was now staring at her with amazement.Tessa on the other hand, could not believe her eyes. She was definitely shocked, unexpectedly meeting a friend but she wondered how Sophie could recognize or even remember her. Especially when she was putting on a hoodie. After all, they weren't exactly close friends back in school.‘’Sophie!’’ Tessa finally replied with the same amount of surprise filled enthusiasm.Sophie had a round face with full lips which was carefully colored with her red lipstick. Her eyelashes has always been long, but at that moment they seemed longer and darker, giving her the pretty gothic girl look with her red knee length gown.‘’Tessa, I am so happy to see you. I just spotted you down the hall. I kept wondering if you were the one, but after a much closer look. I could not control myself from calling out your name," Sophie said all through, with a smile on her face.Tessa wa
Tessa got dressed in a gray hoodie and stepped out of her home for a stroll. She had been indoors earlier eating some of the junk food purchased for her by Sophie. She didn't do much and didn't even dare to take a sip of the wine. She had contacted a few well-known nutritionists online the other day so she could be well informed about the pregnancy. And the dos and don'ts.She hadn't been outside her home since the day before and needed to get fresh air. She also wanted to exercise a little so her muscles would not become stiff. As expected, her neighborhood was quiet. The leaves on the trees aligned by the side of the road blew lightly from time to time, adding to its serene atmosphere. ‘’Hey pretty,’’ a guy dressed in a pair of royal-blue shorts jogged past her. He paused in front of her, with a smile on his face.He had Italian brown hair that brushed against his forehead as a result of the slight wind that blew. And coupled with that, he had quite an attractive face too.‘’Good
Bryce took another sip of coffee from the mug in his hand while staring at the screen of his desktop. The breeze blew by and the numerous papers that were scattered on his desk began to fly to the floor but he paid them no heed. Bryce had never been an organized man, which was why he seriously needed a good secretary. Some weeks ago, he fired his last secretary, Maria and so were a couple of others before her.Maria was a young and sexy lady who applied to work as his secretary some days after his last secretary had tried to seduce him. He was frustrated at the time as he was quite unable to understand what was with all those women. All of them believed they could seduce him. He had heard a few of them discuss how he was a cold man. Yet, they all hoped they could get into his mind and make him fall for them. After all, the Romano family was prestigious and influential in the city. Being married to him meant they would be entitled to boundless wealth. But Bruce only felt that they wer
Flashback continues~Bryce raced his mind to the last day he was at his office, he wondered whether his assistant had forgotten to lock his office door.He was certain that his door was locked before he left. He had even witnessed when his assistant locked the door after he had walked out of the office with his suitcase. He peeped into his office and was shocked at his disorganized his desk was.He never left his desk untidy before every weekend. The cleaner would have sorted out everything and cleaned it up Friday evening. He opened the door fully and he immediately noticed the shape of wet footsteps imprinted on the tiles.Someone had been in his office.Suddenly, he heard the sound of an object crashing and turned to his left where the sound seemed to come from. There was nothing, but his shelf also with scattered books.Bryce walked stealthily towards the shelf while roaming his eyes around his office. Just when he bent low to pick up the book that had fallen, he felt the sudden r
‘’So tell me, how did you feel when you met a high school friend after a long time.’’ Bryce rested his arm on the desk and palmed his face, taking a relaxing position and ready to listen to his talkative younger sister.‘’You should know her. You were in senior year when she joined the school.’’ Sophie asked, squinting her eyes in the process.‘’You know that I was a reserved boy back in school. I barely even knew you.’’ He laughed. And, it was meant to be a joke.A knock was heard on Bryce's door, just before Sophie was about to make her next statement.‘’Come in,’’ Bryce ordered, still looking at his sister expecting her to speak.‘’Mr. Bryce, a letter just came in from the ministry of transport. It has to do with the business proposal you shared earlier this month with the minister."’ Said the lady who should be in her early 30s and dressed in a corporate black gown with her pixie-styled hair. She walked briskly and dropped the file on the office desk just a few feet away from wher
