Chapter 4

The moment I stepped into my high school I felt different. Everything just felt so different, it was as though I was floating in the atmosphere and just felt really good about myself for no reason at all. I felt confident even though my whole life I was the only male omega.

This morning when I arrived home my mom wasn't there and I really didn't want to think of where she possibly could be in this world. But at least I wouldn't have to deal with her asking me where I've been all night and what I've been up to. I also didn't want to see he face after I caught her cheating on my freaking dad. And now I nearly forgot about my test.

"Shit!"

I ran down the hallways. Other students taking their time to get to their respective classes because wow yea they had all the time in the world while I needed to be there ten minutes earlier because Mrs Burnts despised late comers. She was my AP biology teacher.

I was five minutes early and not ten and that only earned me scowl from her.

"Because you are my Top performer student and this test is very important for your final term mark, I will let slide." She said as she came to me her eyes glaring venom into my skull. "But do it again and you will regret it!"

"Yes ma'am!" I bowed my head towards my desk in embarrassment. She was a beta and after all the alphas just went away, over the years the betas became the dominant ones and her presence was intimidating.

I really needed by AP biology grades. I was starting to think maybe I could be a vet or a biologist and just go out to the outside world exploring life. This class meant everything to me.

Micah, my bestie was sitting beside me trying not to snigger  and I wanted to smack her right now. We began writing the test when the clock hit 9. And as always I was the first one to finish and the test was so easy it didn't feel the slightest challenging at all. Even Mrs Burnst gave me a wide eyed look as if she couldn't believe I kicked the test she worked so hard on to set up, in the ass.

She was impressed when I handed mine in and jumped straight to marking it and when everyone was done our class was dismissed. Moments after that she called me and asked me to stay behind so I packed my stuff before Micah agreed to wait for me outside and I then walked to the Mrs Burnst' desk.

"Good morning Mr Simeon." She said and smiled at me from her desk. She actually smiled at me and I was trying not to get creeped out by it because Mrs Burnst never smiled at anyone, not anyone other than Mr Burnst her husband.

"M-morning ma'am..." I smiled nervously. It was starting to feel like I was in trouble.

"Relax you are not in trouble." She said as if she felt how my pheromones suddenly went all over the place which was something that never happened. Omegas cannot release pheromones unless they are in heat, around alphas or pups.

So I immediately stopped doing that.

"You aced this test and I admit I am surprised because I used all my skills to make this as difficult as possible for you." She said and then stood up. "Because the school board and the SGB recently had a meeting about you and your performance and we all agree that...how can I put this...? You are a literal genius Kaya. You being in my class makes it impossible for me to tend to other students because honestly it feels like you are out of my league."

"What are you trying to say ma'am?" I asked trying my best not to think the worst of what was happening right now.

"We all had decided and agreed that it was time for you to graduate. It seems like you excel in biology the most but your scores are way too high. That aside your other subject are doing well too and that's reasonable enough to make you, rightfully an early graduate."

"But I'm already a senior..."

"We have already received calls around various colleges around the US all looking for you and wanting to know we could immediately transfer you and get you registered to study biology or any other life science of your own. This is an opportunity you can't just let it slide by."

Wow. I couldn't believe this. Was this it? Was this finally my ticket out of this shithole of a town?!

"Thank you, ma'am! Thank you so much!" I bowed at her just to show my gratitude.

After last night I definitely didn't want to be in this school any longer. I wanted to be away from that principal and my slutty mother, including this town. There was still Micah but she could always join me next year and life would be so much better once I get into college.

And then there's the alpha.

The alpha in the woods! How could I forget about him?! I might just never see him again and I didn't know to feel about that.

I stopped myself from thinking about him because we promised to go on with our lives and pretend last night never happened.

"I have to go, Micah is waiting for me!" I said to Mrs Burnst as I also wanted to give Micah the great news.
