May – POV

I chose running away.

Earlier that morning, I packed my lil suitcase and booked a ride to get away.

But as fate would have it, I was involved in an accident.

The scent of antiseptic always did something strange to me.

A memory, maybe. Or a warning.

I stood at the hospital’s automatic doors, arms folded tightly, the breeze from the air conditioning brushing against my neck. The sterile lighting above me made my skin look pale, almost ghostly. I’d come here due to my involvement in an accident.

I turned toward the parking lot after my treatment was done, fist clenched in my hand.

“May.”

My breath caught. I didn’t have to look up. I knew that voice.

John.

I hadn’t heard it in hours—not outside my dreams. Not outside my guilt.

Slowly, I turned.

He stood by the edge of the sidewalk, his car parked haphazardly behind him. His shirt was half untucked, his sleeves rolled up. He looked like he hadn’t slept—not in the way that was obvious, but in the way where you start to come undone

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   Set Up.

The house was too quiet. John had tried to lose himself in work, in emails, in shallow conversations with lawyers and PR strategists. But as soon as the house emptied and the walls started listening, the stillness hit like a ghost. He sat on the edge of the couch, sleeves rolled to his elbows, the whisky in his glass untouched. Saint padded in quietly, barefoot in his Spider-Man pajamas. No nanny trailing him. No Celeste. Just the sound of small feet dragging over marble tiles. John looked up. “Hey. Shouldn’t you be asleep?” Saint didn’t answer. He stood there, fidgeting with the hem of his shirt, eyes heavy but unsettled. “I had a bad dream,” he mumbled finally. John set the glass down. “About what?” Saint’s eyes flicked up to him, cautious. “About May.” That name, spoken so plainly, knocked the wind out of John more than he expected. He cleared his throat. “What kind of dream?” Saint shrugged. “She was crying. But no one could hear her. I tried to tell you, but you were…

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   Doubts.

JohnThe morning light cut through the blinds in thin, golden slits. But there was nothing warm about it. John had barely slept. He sat in his office, elbows digging into the mahogany desk, phone on speaker as Elliot’s voice poured through the line.“I went deeper,” Elliot said. “Not just the leaked footage, but the original data. We’ve got a problem.”John’s heart tightened. “How bad?”Elliot didn’t answer immediately. The silence stretched long enough to sting.“It was tampered with. The metadata on the leak says it’s two weeks old, but it was actually created five months ago. Someone scrubbed and re-stamped it.”John’s fingers tapped against the desk. “So the leak was planned. Not accidental.”“Yes. And strategic.”He leaned back in his chair, mind racing. “How the hell did they even get the footage?”Elliot hesitated. “That’s where it gets uglier. I checked your internal surveillance archive. The file was never uploaded to any central cloud. But… your master server had an unlogged

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   The Night We Forgot!

May POV The following morning, I tried remembering the night that caused all this drama. I curled my fingers around my cup of tea and closed my eyes. And slowly, fragments returned. The feel of the leather seat beneath me. The ache behind my ribs that night—fresh heartbreak, another betrayal. My mother in law had called me a “pity project and a barren witch.” And then… him. John Bells. He’d been sitting at the bar already. Collar slightly unbuttoned. Tie loose. Face unreadable. I remember thinking he looked like someone who had just lost something important. And maybe that’s why I sat beside him. Maybe that’s why neither of us asked for names. Just silence. Then a conversation. Then laughter. I didn’t try to seduce him. He didn’t try to impress me. We were just two broken people looking for something that didn’t hurt. John POV He hadn’t been to that hotel since the night it happened. Not until today. The concierge still smiled too hard. The carpe

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   Wounds!

May POVIt’s strange how quickly silence can become a kind of noise. In the days after everything collapsed, the quiet in my hotel room felt like punishment. No Saint running through the hallways. No morning toast crumbs. Just me, the buzz of my phone vibrating across the table, and headlines that painted me into something I wasn’t.The tape had done its job. The world had decided.May Hemlings: homewrecker, liar, opportunist. The woman who “tricked” a billionaire into bed and stayed close to his son to get a second chance.I didn’t even know where the footage came from. I couldn’t remember that night—just fragments. The taste of something sweet, a dizzy spell, a blackout. And then waking up sore and confused the next morning in a hotel room, alone. No answers. Just a headache and an invoice. But it didn’t matter. Not to the board. Not to the press. Not even, apparently, to John. The door to that world had been slammed shut. Literally.I replayed the moment the guards escorted me out

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   Collateral Damage

MayMeanwhile in the Bells Mansion; They didn’t even look me in the eye.Two men in pressed black suits stood at the bottom of the stairs, stiff like statues, waiting for me to follow. One of them cleared his throat.“Miss Hemlings, the car is ready.”I didn’t ask where I was going. That wasn’t the point, was it? They weren’t trying to relocate me. They were trying to erase me.Everything felt foggy. Not the dramatic kind you read about in books—just this numb, heavy awareness that your life was splitting in two and there was nothing you could do to stop it.I took one step. Then another. My shoes didn’t make a sound on the polished floor. I’d packed my things into a bag that felt too small for everything I’d built here. And yet, somehow, it still felt like too much.No one said goodbye. Not the housekeepers. Not the chefs who used to sneak me extra pastries. Not even the driver who always called me “Nanny” and offered me gum on long rides.I guess when you’re the scandal, people forg

  • The Billionaire’s Unexpected Love   The Wolves In Boardroom

May POVMEANWHILE, the board of directors summoned a meeting.John’s hands were clasped too tightly on the polished edge of the boardroom table.Every screen on the wall was frozen on the same headline:Billionaire Caught on Camera – Is May Hemlings More Than Just a Nanny?Below it, blurred screenshots of a dimly lit hotel room. His silhouette. Her back. Skin. Sheets. Shadows. It was a damned witch hunt.“Gentlemen,” he started, voice sharp, “this was a leak—an invasion of privacy. What happened in that room was months ago and—”“—And the public doesn’t care, John,” cut in Marlowe, his Chief Risk Officer. “They see a scandal. Our stocks dropped 6% this morning. The Asia markets opened lower, and by mid-day, we’re looking at another dip.”A low murmur rippled through the room like a tide of dissent. He straightened in his chair, jaw locked. “I didn’t know May when that happened. We were strangers.”“That’s worse,” muttered Soraya Zhang, his Head of Strategic Comms. “A nanny with a sex
