(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW)It's finally the day of the championship and I keep getting goosebumps whenever I think of the crowd I will be facing in the next few minutes. I haven't felt this much anxiety since Vance kissed me for the first time.“Are you okay, you keep rubbing your hands,” Miss Katherina gives me a concerned look as we tread towards the dressing room of the stadium; the show starts in an hour and I need to get ready before then.I give her a tiny smile. “I'm fine, my hands are just damp,”“I know you will do great, you were born to be an ice princess,” The praise makes me grin. “I want to be the queen,” I murmur shyly and she giggles. She halts as we finally reach the door and look at me.“And you will be once you join the Olympics,” she looks at me with fondness and reaches out to stroke my hair. “You are brighter than a star, Ahvi. You remind me so much of myself when I was your age. Let's kill the show,” I nod eagerly and almost bounce with excitement. She opens the d
(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW)The team and I arrived back in Chicago airport at 5pm on a Monday after a successful championship. It was a moment I won't forget in a rush and I hold it to Miss Katherina and Xenia; I could have kissed my career goodbye if they hadn't saved the day and now, I have the chance of joining the Olympics next year right after graduation, it's a dream come true.“Despite the challenges, we made it through. Congratulations team, the Olympics are right ahead of us!” Miss Xenia clasps her hands in avidness as she reels to us when we reach the airport exit. “We've had hellacious weeks so, we will be taking the two weeks off practice and we will meet back at the stadium.”I have never grinned so wide in my entire life as Miss Xenia announces the little break. Staking is frolic and all but a little break will be nice after practicing non stop. There's time to study and time with Vance. A blush blooms on my cheeks at the thought. “Will you be okay on your own?” Miss Katheri
(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW)I'm naked as I sit there in the bathtub in my bathroom, saturated with warm water that's already losing its heat. I gape catatonically at the wall in front of me with my knees held to my chest. I feel lost. I never think I will one day come to doubt everything I once knew, I never think I will be curious about what my mom's hiding from me. There's a lot going on that I don't know. Even David and Vance are hiding something from me; they are all keeping me in the shadows like some little girl who's going to crumble once she discovers the truth and I hate it. But how do I find things out on my own? I've never been a curious one especially when it comes to solving puzzles but now, I feel like I'm in an endless maze with no exit.I let myself sink sluggishly into the water till my entire body is submerged except for my face that looks at the ceiling with vacancy till I hear a knock from my bathroom room.Vance's scent reaches my nostrils before he opens the door a
(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW)I know this is a bad idea the moment I saunters into my mom and David's room to find either of them present, however curiosity gets the better of me and I slip into the master bedroom. It's neat, nothing is out of place, it gives me a change of mind, I feel I won't find anything here but then again, there's nothing wrong with trying. I reach the wardrobe.I ransacked through it, finding nothing out of the ordinary, next are the lockers and drawers, still no luck. Where could she be hiding it? I think to myself and then, a light bulb lights up in my head; I squats and looks under the bed and finds a box.Ah! Found it! I exclaim in triumph and take the box from under the bed. I make myself comfortable on the bed and just look at the box. It's old with a unique design at the top; it doesn't have any dust on it and it looks like it was recently opened. Will I really be able to find the answers to my question if I open this box? Will she get mad that I'm going throu
(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW)Boredom and a little bit of curiosity gets me roaming the internet, typing werewolves on the search engine and instantly, I am given results of the movie twilight and other werewolf dramas. What am I expecting?I scroll down, skipping images and redirecting links. There isn't much about them, I guess if they really are top secret of the government, there won't be articles about them on the internet.Curiosity gets me typing something else; witches and again is met with few to no articles. I tapped on one, entering a website and it talks about witches.I read through the article. Witches are rare compared to werewolves and they have powers that are beyond the comprehension of humans. Witches are born with powers passed down from generation to generation, their powers can erupt the balance of the universe and most of them possess the ability to travel time and tell the future. Witches are phenomenal and only exist one in a thousand.“What are you doing?” Vance's

(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW)"You can run, dear, but you can't hide from your destiny. When you fear and love something, it becomes your greatest flaw."There are a few things I know I can't run away from. First is the reverberating sound of my grandmother's words in my head for no good cause and some so-called destiny she invariably speaks about. Second is the loud cheers of the audience right outside the backstage, waiting while their screams get vociferous. I swallow the lump that has cropped up on my throat and rub my moist hands together. And thirdly-"Ahvi, are you ready?"The hasty voice of my manager, Katherina hauls me out of my reverie and the woman materializes in front of me. I blink, clearing the sudden gauze that barricades my vision. I look and realize everyone is staring, waiting for me to give the go-ahead as I always did before every concert but this time, the words get sag in my throat."No." The word flees my lips before I can stop it. "Can I quickly use the restroom?" I
(AHVI'S POINT OF VIEW)Have you ever looked at your stepbrother and been like damn! I want him?The mere thought of this gives me perturbation and again, gave me insomnia last night, and now I can narrowly concentrate in class because he's home again. I'm going to lose my mind."You already are if you keep mumbling to yourself,"I sizzle at the impertinent interruption, then exhale a sigh and grab my mug of cappuccinos off the table of the coffee shop we are in and take a sip. "Everything feels so wrong," I enunciated thoughtlessly. "How long is he staying this time?" My best friend Raven inquires, mounting on a croissant and latte. I shrug. "I don't know, a few days or few weeks," Maybe years. He's a wanderlust, so I rarely see him; always out with his friends exploring forests and mountains. Adventurous, that one."He's going to leave eventually and you won't see him again for months. Continue on that path and no one gets to know your dirty secret," Raven verbalizes with a mouth f
