Chapter 12: That's An Order

Curzon's grin turned wicked, his fangs showing. "She looks gorgeous in Ipsit's colors, don't you think, Eden?"

Violet tried to break free but his grip was too strong, like rigor mortis had set in.

Eden's rage shook the room, thunder roaring from his voice. "Let her go, Curzon."

Lightning cracked across the ceiling. Black storm clouds swirled above Eden.

Curzon laughed. "I've acquired a few new powers since we last met. Your pet clouds have lost their teeth." He dragged Violet along as he addressed the room, forcing people back against the wall. "I'm here to talk. I thought you'd all want to know what's coming for you."

Eden tried to reach for Violet, but Curzon pulled her behind his back. Liquid silver shot from Curzon's free hand and a ragged soul emerged from nothingness. Its eyes were black holes and a sword hung from its drooping arms. The creature held no life within, only Curzon's will.
