Chapter 100

Melody

I sat on the porch, watching as trees swayed in the wind on the far end of our compound. I was feeling nauseous after taking lunch and decided to get out and enjoy fresh air, hoping it would help. Draven had refused to go to the office, insisting that I wasn't okay. When I refused to go see the doctor, he suggested I talk to his mother instead. Needing answers of my own too, I agreed.

I didn't know what exactly was wrong with me, but deep down I knew it wasn't something that needed a doctor's examination. I leaned on the Valentina rocking chair and closed my eyes as I rocked, slowly being pulled into thoughts. Lost in my mind, I allowed the cold breeze to caress my exposed skin, dressed in a crop top and shorts.

"She didn't lie." Scarlett's voice drifted to my ears, making me slowly open my eyes. Her voice only made the jumble of ideations in my mind dissolve instantly. With her presence came the usual peace she brought anytime she was around.
