That voice...

Susan turned and saw Luke staring at her in surprise.

The fountain created a light mist in front of him, softening his features instantly.

Susan could not help but fall into a trance.

A familiar face in a familiar place.

Everything seemed to have happened just yesterday, but at the same time, it was as though a century had passed.

“What are you doing here?”

“What are you doing here?”

They both spoke at the same time.

Stunned, Luke then broke out into a smile. “For some reason, I’ve always regarded today as an important day, so I came here.”

Susan’s heart skipped a beat.

“Next time, every year when it’s your birthday, we will come to see the fountain. Then, I will make you a ring, alright?”

“Are you that stingy? Is the ring only going to be made of straw?”

“I mean a real ring. I want to give you one with the blessings of the entire world.”

Tragically, the world did not bless them as such. When Luke had taken her to meet his parents, all they received was rejection.
