Valentina’s POV

I heard Raffaele’s voice like a distant echo. “What did you do to her, monk?… Valentina!”

The panic in his voice grew sharper.

I was clutching my throat, clawing for air, trying not to drown. My eyes felt like they were about to bulge from their sockets.

“Valentina, my love—do you hear me? Wake up!”

The vision slowly faded, and I collapsed in a heap, coughing on the floor.

Suddenly, arms engulfed me. Raffaele pulled me into his chest and held me so fiercely I almost lost my breath again.

“You’re okay,” he whispered, over and over, but his voice was breaking. I was trembling in his arms, my body reacting before my mind could catch up.

“You almost killed her!” he snapped at the monk. “What was that all about?”

The monk smirked, knowingly. “Welcome back… flower bearer Valentina.” The monk’s eyes didn’t blink.

“Only those born of the old blood can return whole—without losing their minds.” He looked at me like I had just confirmed something he’d long suspected.

Raffaele’s POV The concierge greeted us with a polished smile, hands folded neatly behind his back. “Welcome, Mr. and Mrs. Ricchezza,” he said in flawless English. “We’re honored to host your Archaeological Preservation Team.” He gestured toward the lobby, where desert light streamed through tall glass panels. “Climate researchers and documentary filmmakers—how fascinating. Not many guests come here for science.” Valentina said nothing, just smiled. “The Kunlun Mountains,” he added with a slight bow, “are as divine as they are dangerous. I trust your stay will be… as exciting as it is enlightening.” He turned gracefully and began leading us down the corridors lined with textured sandstone walls and warm LED lighting. The floors had subtle patterns that mimicked the Yadan rock formations just outside the windows. There were occasional art inserts—minimalist landscape photography echoing the surreal salt lakes and desert dunes. It was modern and immersive, built to e

Raffaele’s POV The rotors from the helicopter thundered overhead, slicing through the dry desert air. “Hold her steady, Hembapu,” I said calmly, unbuckling my harness. Hembapu turned slightly, brow furrowed beneath his aviators. “What are you doing? You’re not serious, are you?.” “Oh, I’m always serious,” I replied, flashing him the kind of smile that usually ended negotiations. Behind me, Valentina was already slipping into the parachute gear. She was focused with that wild glint in her eye. She didn’t hesitate this time. Just strapped herself in with that dangerous grace of hers—wearing fitted black cargo pants with stretch panels and gold zipper accents. A black, matte silk blouse tucked in, showing her toned figure. An olive-green utility jacket tailored at the waist, with hidden compartments. Combat boots laced tight. Gold-rimmed sunglasses. A satin neck scarf tied loosely for flair. And my favorite detail: her gun holster, discreet beneath the jacket—the swe

Raffaele’s POV I sat in the helicopter as we began our descent. The rotors chopped through the thin mountain air, sending the horizon tilting as we veered toward the landing site. “Where are we?” Valentina asked as she peered out the window. “Golmud,” I replied. “We’re on the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau, close to the northern slopes of the Kunlun range.” Her gaze flicked towards me. “It’s a major transportation hub,” I added. “Airport, railway, roads connecting to the deeper mountain zones. Deva Pran was kind enough to send me the coordinates.” The sarcasm in my voice was intentional and Valentina just smiled. “The city’s often used as a base for scientific expeditions, geological surveys, and mining operations near the Kunlun and Qaidam Basin,” I continued. “So I’ll give the monk this, his cover story actually works.” “You’re enjoying this more than you admit,” I said to her as she saw how uncomfortable it was for me to even mention that darn monks name. Before she could respo

Raffaele’s POV She was giving me weird looks again after that kiss. And here I was, hoping she’d finally warm up. Maybe it was the wrong tactic. I felt like sighing, I should’ve known better. She never reacts the way I expect. Her mouth said nothing, but her eyes were searching mine, testing the waters, like she was trying to decide whether to trust me… or seduce me into giving her something she wanted again. I hated that I couldn’t always tell the difference. “Why are you looking at me like that?” I asked. “You look scared. Why?” She didn’t answer right away. So I softened my voice. Not out of weakness, but calculation. I needed to know what was going on in that beautiful head of hers… if I ever wanted a chance at truly having her. “I won’t let anything happen to you.” I said soothingly. That part was true. Even if I had to kill someone before breakfast to keep it that way. Her eyes flickered—and then, out of nowhere, she blurted, “I have to call Deva Pra

  • The Tycoon’s Temptress - Red Flower’s Chase   Chapter 89 - The Careless Informant

Valentina’s POV I was in a place I had never seen before. The wind tasted like crisp snow. I stood at the edge of a vast mountain range, where the sky bled gold into jagged stone and peaks disappeared into the clouds like a staircase to heaven. This was where heaven met the earth. I stood on a cloud bridge between the mortal and the divine. Below me, veins of milky green stone curled through the cliffs, pulsing like a dragon’s spine. I saw caravans tracing its dangerous path, and a yellow river that looked as if it poured straight from the heavens. Then I saw him—Deva Pran, dressed like a simple goatherd, singing. He stood waist-deep in the yellow glacial stream with his eyes closed. His voice hung in the air like a spell. “From the sky he came, flame in his breath, Rider of storms, breaker of death. King of Ling, child of stars, Born to bring justice where demons are. He rides with antlers, wrapped in light, Sword like thunder, eyes like night. All shal

  • The Tycoon’s Temptress - Red Flower’s Chase   Chapter 88 - A Beautiful Annihilation

Tullio Cavaliere’s POV I was looking at the big screen in my Ottoman-style Baghdadi villa—the one with arched windows and ornate balconies where the Tigris River flowed beneath. It always moved the same way. Steady, unhurried, and certain of its course. It mirrors me—smooth, deliberate, always flowing exactly the way I intend. “Basim,” I chuckled, content. “That signal path they followed. It was rerouted through a ghost server in Erbil. That was you, wasn’t it? Your signature work. Beautifully done.” Basim spun around in his swivel chair, grinning like a child showing off a science project. “Those fake coordinates did their job well.” “Since I’m an expert in cyber-sabotage,” Basim said smugly, spinning the mouse beneath his fingers, “I handle hacking, surveillance manipulation, and digital disruption. The trifecta.” I smiled. “Lethal trifecta, Basim. Your precision always hits the mark.” I clapped my hands in delight. Then I laughed—loud and satisfied. “It exploi
