Iris’s POV

Alpha Maximus grinned at me, and it was almost frightening. I resisted the urge to take a step back.

“Alpha Maximus,” I said slowly, keeping my voice steady. “Can’t sleep either?”

He didn’t reply. He just kept advancing toward me, each step was deliberate and controlled, almost threatening.

I refused to take a step back. That would be a sign of weakness, and I wouldn’t give him that satisfaction.

When he finally spoke, his voice was deep and haunting. “Your mate made a fool of me out there.”

I swallowed hard but raised my chin in defiance. “You made a fool of yourself. You broke the rules. You transformed during a match. That was your choice, not his.”
