Chapter 4: Heavenly Touch

I was puzzled when Levi Atwood told me that he didn’t take me from Henry’s place to be his feeder, turned out he has other plans.

As I looked him in the eye, my brow furrowed and questions filled my blue eyes, imploring those hazel eyes to respond, but my mouth remained closed, as did Levi’s, who was still staring at my wet lips.

“What do you mean?” I asked; I can’t explain how my heartbeat was at that moment, but sure, it run faster than the tsunami.

Despite the words he kept inside his mouth at the time, Levi would rather chuckle than answer my damn question, which made my heart race even faster. To be honest, I wasn’t ready to hear his response, but I’m curious about the meaning of the word he mentioned earlier.

But instead of giving me a clarification, he ran his hand to my face and caressed it with his powerful palm, gently. As I feel his skin touching mine, my eyes slowly close and my heart stops beating as if I experienced death when Levi Atwood took my soul out of my body with his heavenly touch.

“You’re perfect and I never regret choosing you from millions of feeders in the world!” He said under his breath.

I opened my eyes the moment I felt his breath touching my face, looking at him in glazed eyes afterward, Levi Atwood then tucked a piece of hair on my cheek behind my ear so that he can see my face even better.

“You don’t even know my name, what’s worse than that?” I chuckled.

“But I still picked you!” He responded.

After listening to his response I believe that Levi Atwood could have left me in those two men’s grip if he wanted to, but he chose otherwise and save me.

Then I learned that questions are not Levi’s cup of coffee and he prefers to say what he wants rather than being asked as I did earlier.

I kept waiting for the word I expected to hear from his mouth at the time, but Levi seemed to stall for time. After a few minutes of silence, my master finally speaks up, but I was not expecting that kind of response.

“I picked you not because I wanted you to be my feeder”

“I wanted you to be my girlfriend”

Mr. Vampire declared, I was losing my breath and my eyes were staring at him blankly because I had no idea what to say; my mouth was locked, too stunned to speak.

And after those clarifications, his guard knocked on the door, causing Levi Atwood to jump out of bed; he left me lying on my back and walked toward the door.

I kept an eye on him as he opened the door for the guard. Levi Atwood then stood directly in front of the door frame, covering the gap with his body so the guard couldn’t see what was inside.

And he got back to his original setting as the guard coming; a cold-hearted man who never formed his mouth corner into a smile, a savage who could kill anyone without mercy.

“Master Levi, the car is all set! We’re ready to go” His man stated.

Mr. Vampire sighed and cleared his throat before responding, he felt awkward because the guard finds him in the same room as a lowly feeder like I am; Mr. Vampire felt judged.

“All right” Levi replied and he was ready to go.

My brow furrowed as I realized he was going to leave me hanging with a million questions in my head, so I drew the blanket over my body and jumped out of bed.

And when Mr. Vampire started leaving the door, my body felt like it was being pulled by him, so I chased him down with tears in my eyes but Levi didn’t even turn around to see me behind.

As I approached the door, I stood in the middle of the door frame, watching him make his way toward the stairs with his man nearby.

And I despise it because the presence of the guard forces me to hang on, shutting my mouth for the sake of Levi Atwood's high image. Furthermore, who am I to open my mouth and tell everyone what he said to me?

After seeing him disappear down the stairs, I ran back into the bedroom and shut the door, hoping to see his car pulling out of the mansion, if only to relieve my anxiety as I waited for him to return and continue our interrupted conversation.

But to no avail, the view from the bedroom where I am now was a golf course larger than the apartment complex where I previously lived, not the front of the mansion as I wish.

“Shit” I sighed, can’t lie to myself, I felt blue and left out at that moment.

As my eyes were still staring out of the window, somebody knocked on the door and made my shoulders lift. After noticing someone’s arrival, I quickly approach the door.

“Hello, good morning” A female maid threw me a huge smile as I opened the door.

I said nothing but smiled, observing the maid up and down with my eyes then I figure out she was a human just like me.

“Master Levi ordered me to take care of you and make you feel like you’re home when he’s not around. Here, I got something for you, Miss!”

With a huge smile on her face, the female maid ran her hands which were full of bags of new clothes toward me and demanded that I take the paper bags. I took the bags and remained silent at the time, still processing everything.

“You must be starving, right?”

“I’ll be waiting outside until you change your outfit and take you to get your breakfast”

I nodded and immediately close the door to give myself some privacy. I can’t believe to have a life like today. Everything I’m experiencing right now feels like a dream, and I don’t want to wake up from it. Plus, Levi Atwood asked me to be his girlfriend, and nothing could be better, although everything is still vaguely the same, I’m blithe.

Standing in front of a full-body mirror, I looked at myself already dressed in a white body-con dress, and a smile couldn’t leave my pale face as I realized I deserved this kind of life after being in hell since my parents died.

This was most likely my fate, but being in a situation like this does not satisfy me because Clarke is still fighting for her life out there, and I can’t abandon my sister and move on as if she had never existed in my life.

“Miss, are you finished?” The female maid asked from the outside of the bedroom.

“Yes, one second!” I replied and immediately polish my lips with a pink lipstick that the maid brought earlier.

After making sure that I won’t disappoint my master when he comes back to see me, I stepped out of the bedroom and ready for the day.

After leaving the bedroom, both the female maid and I walked through the corridor; Levi owned a really large mansion, and my eyes couldn’t even reach every corner of the room in this mansion, but there was something that caught my attention at the time.

When the maid and I were walking down the stairs, I noticed a large photograph hanging on the wall; it was a family portrait of five people, including Levi Atwood. The photograph was placed directly in front of the massive stairwell where the maid and I were.

I was held back by hesitation at the time, but I couldn’t stop myself from asking about the photograph, so I kept walking down the stairs and fighting my heart and brain until I finally opened my mouth after remaining silent.

“Hmm, h-hey…” I started.

“Yes, any queries, Miss?” The maid replied; at that moment we both reached the first floor and landed our feet on the floor.

“Who are the people in that photograph?” I pointed my gaze to the photograph in front of us and stopped my step after.

At the time, the female maid also stopped her step.

“They are Master Atwood’s parents and sister” The maid explained.

“Sister… You mean sisters with s, right?” I asked; I got puzzled after hearing her explanation because there are two young women in the photograph, not just one and she was standing next to Levi, holding his hand tight as if nothing could separate the two of them.

Master Levi Atwood also appears different in that photograph; he appears happy, which is diametrically opposed to the current situation. I mean, he looks cute in that photograph, has hugger smiles, and has a fresh haircut.

And, while he maintains his image and is never seen with any women in the city, the woman beside him in that photograph appears to mean a lot to him and I'm sure she is not his sister, nor the Atwood.

“Is that Mr. Atwood’s girlfriend?” I asked and was ready to break my heart if I find the truth.

The female maid’s face instantly change after I threw her that question, she also gulped in tension and then changed the topic to avoid my question.

“Your breakfast is ready! And I guess it will be cold if we stay here any longer” The maid flashed me a toothed smile, but her eyes displayed suspense.

Then I realized that this was none of my business and that I should not have asked the maid that question or forced her to answer it for me; she could have lost her job as a result.

“All right” I smiled.

The two of us then make our way to the dining room and move on, I sat on the rectangular dining table one second after I arrived and all I can see is emptiness, no companion in the dining room, only a few maids and staff that is impossible for them to sit with me.

Even though having this kind of life is everyone’s dream, especially for a lowly feeder like me, it appears that my old life was better than this emptiness, despite the fact that I had to work hard to achieve my wish; I had someone to have breakfast with, whether it was my best friend or a random human at the restaurant, unlike today, I’m alone and confused.

I couldn’t help but swallow my saliva when the staff placed the food on the table; my eyes also bulged when I saw the breakfast dish in front of me. I never imagined that the food served this morning would be the same amount as I had eaten in a week.

“Are these for breakfast?” I asked.

“Yes, Miss, we rarely cook real food like today because Mr. Atwood never had human guests, we’re so excited when he commanded us to serve you, hope you enjoy your breakfast!” One of the staff replied and all of them then leave.

At that time it was just me and the female maid who brought me here staying in place; I ran my gaze at her and was surprised at the time.

“Enjoy your breakfast, Miss” She smiled and pleased me to take the food.

I felt so stupid to behave as if I had never eaten this type of food in my life. Yes, I’ve never been to a food party or eaten food like this before, but I shouldn’t eat those foods like oink-oink. If Levi Atwood saw this, he might reconsider.

I eat everything without stopping and don’t even let myself breathe because I’m so excited about the food. My hands were full of the sauce that had melted from the lasagna I had eaten, and I knew I had messed up; the dining table, which had been neat and clean, had become a shambles because of me. My mouth is also a mess, as is the white body-con dress I was wearing.

And while I was busy stuffing my mouth with lasagna and losing my mind, someone stormed into the dining room and barked at me.

“What’s in the world, who the hell is she?!”
