Ten years ago, the first string of homicides rained down on New Orleans, my home, the place I was born and raised in. Crime was always present, but I don’t remember them being this bad. There was still rape, domestic violence cases, robbery, and even fights. Homicides just randomly joined the crime category. It wasn’t as bad as first, but once I turned fourteen, it increased. Once that happened, mom sheltered me for the rest of my teen years.             I wasn’t allowed to travel anywhere unless I had my older brother and sister with me. But, once I hit my earlier twenties, I’ve become rebellious. I didn’t stay inside the house, and when I did leave, I didn’t come back until the next day. I knew it was hurting my mother, but I couldn’t stand being at home. I couldn’t stand the pack, and I damn sure couldn’t stand the pack leader, James McCallan. He was an enemy to me, in my eyes.

“I made it out here.” I told my friend, Erika Salazar, over the phone as I walked inside my apartment in New Orleans.       “ I can’t believe you’re out here!” Erika screamed into the phone, causing me to take the phone away from my ear.       I sighed as I waited for her to stop screaming. Her high-pitched voice finally lowered, and I was able to put the phone back up to my ear. I put my keys on the counter that was next to the front door and looked around my almost penthouse suite apartment. It was terrific, and I’m happy I was able to call it mine. Well, my adoptive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Moore, paid for it for me. So, thanks for the help, Mom and Dad.     While I was on the phone with Erika, I decided to tour the house. I started in the kitchen and worked my way up the cedarwood made stairs. Then it was from the bathroom to my bedroom. Thank Go

If you think the wolf pack I was in was a fucking problem to me, then you thought wrong. Our biggest enemy was actually the N.O.P.D a.k.a. New Orleans Police Department. I wasn’t the only one who thought they were a bother. My older brother, Seth, did as well. They irritated him more than anybody, and that wasn’t a good thing at all. Seth had low patience when dealing with them pigs and seeing him irritated is something that nobody should ever witness. I never saw him rage unless we had a confrontation with them. It was just one of those days, and of course, these cops will stop anybody they want to stop. It just so happened that today was Seth and me.       “ Get the fuck off me!” I shouted while my face was being slammed against the wall.        I looked over at Seth, who was slammed as well. I swear, these pigs fuck with anybody they want to. They don’t mess w

Today was the day I started my job as a psychologist at the new asylum. I have been looking forward to doing this ever since I found out about me being transferred to it. As I followed the directions to the place, I also had Erika keeping me company as well.              “ I wonder what Dr. Martin looks like.” She said to me as I followed the GPS direction.             “ He’s definitely not ugly." I admitted to her, smiling because of the gasping sound she made into the phone.             “ You met him?!”                        I laughed into the phone and looked around my area. It was nothing, but a bunch of trees. Confused, I

A week has gone by, and nobody has seen that girl since she got her tire fixed. The only time she pops up is at the bar to visit Erika, but after that, she doesn’t exist. I wish I could say that about the crime here, though. Something happened out here in New Orleans. Something really bad happened, and it’s something I never thought would ever happen.        I headed over to Janelle’s bar at 5pm. It was really crowded this time, and I thought there was a little small event going even though Janelle isn’t the type to do stuff like that. I walked into the bar, and everybody was on their phones, gossiping about something that happened last night at a local club called New Euphoria. New Euphoria is a club that I work at every Thursday to Friday morning. However, last night, I was released early for the same amount of money I got for both of the nights.       As I go

I swear, I’ve never been this busy in my life. A week has only passed, and I am already exhausted from all the patients I’ve had to deal with. Atleast I’m not alone in this place. I made a new friend since I’ve been here. HerName was Cassie, and she’s a nurse here. She gives the patients their medicine atthe scheduled times, and when we are on break, we eat lunch together. She’staller than me, which is nothing new, since everybody in New Orleans seemsto be taller than me. She’s light skinned with thick black hair, and she’sPetite.I still talk to Erika when I see her at the bar. We conversate like oldtimes, but after that, I just head home to get ready for work the next day.Today was another working day at the Bayou Asylum. I was in my office, as usual, when Cassie busted in. She bent down and began to catch her breath, and Ijust looked at her like she was crazy.“

I hated this room, and I hated everybody that was in this place, especially that fucking girl. Why did I come here? This was such a fucking insult to me. Now, I beat Kravis and Ramirez are fucking laughing at me since now a Moore is in control of me. Once they took the chains and the metal mask off my face, they shoved my ass into this small ass room with nothing, but a window and a bed. I swear I was losing my mind up in there. That room was big enough for a small child. I’m a grown ass man, and I’m tall, so this was bothering me. My shoulders were almost touching the wall if I stood next to the bed.Speaking of the bed, that shit looked very uncomfortable, and I swear back pain was going to hit me one day if I constantly laid on it. The door to my room opened up, and five people came in, one of them was Dr. Martin and a nurse, the others were security guards. “ We need to get you cleaned up, and we need to take your pictures along with y

Dominic was giving me problems. I thought because we somewhat knew each other, he would at least open up to me. However, I was completely wrong. He just sat across from me, staring at the window, watching the rain hit the glass hard. I looked at my phone and noticed we have been sitting in silence for about thirty minutes straight. I only had two hours with each patient, so he was just letting precious time go to complete waste. I sighed and closed my notebook.-                      “ Dominic,” I said his name.                      He didn’t respond, he just stared out the window. I got up from the chair and walked in between the window and his view. He rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the table. I c

It was about 6pm when Dr. Martin came to my room with his damn bodyguards. They handcuffed me and guided me back to Dr. Moore’s office. I don’t know why she wanted to see me. I already gave her a hard time today by not talking. So, what more could she want? Dr. Martin opened the door, and the guards pulled me inside. Dr. Moore was standing there, looking over some papers when she looked up and seen me. The guards led me to the couch, and they forced me to sit down before they removed the handcuffs and headed out the room with Dr. Martin following them.“ How are you?” She asked me, and I just looked at her without saying a word. “ Dominic, I need you to talk to me.”“ For what?” I asked her, already starting to get irritated. “ I don’t have shit to say to you.”“ I’m trying to help you. Why are you so rude?” I licked my lips and turned away from her, looking towards the window. She took a seat across from me, and she continued to look

“ I heard you got a lot of visitors today,” I said as I sat across from Dominic.                   “ I guess.” He said nonchalant               He just stared at me, and I blushed before turning back to my notebook.                “ What?” I asked him.               “ You told them, didn’t you?” He asked, and I looked up at him with a smile forming on my face.               “ Of course. Well, I only relayed the message to Erika, and she told them abo
