The Masquerade Festival is a famous tradition in the province of San Lorenzo celebrated every month of October. Sometimes, they held a Masquerade ball to honor a member of a wealthy family or just for a special event. The said event removes the boundaries of social status. They have the freedom to talk and mingle without being judged or mocked. There is no rich nor poor, everyone is equal. There are strict rules to follow if one plans to attend the ball. Costumes have to make the wearer unidentifiable and wearing a mask is mandatory to hide their identity. No one is allowed to unmask anyone or to say the name of the person even if you recognize them. It is like a game of pretending to be someone or whomever you want to be in one night. According to tradition, the mask is said to drive away evil spirits or bad luck and brings good fortune to the one who hosts the party. San Lorenzo University is one of the most prestigious universities in the country. Most of the students who went there belonged to rich and famous families. There are only a few students whose families belonged to the middle class because the school fees are way too expensive compared to other universities. Getting a scholarship is not easy and there is only one student who is intelligent enough to get that privilege. The University is famous for its business management courses. Students are expected to take over their family business after they graduated. The university serves as their training ground and it is the best way to get connections at an early stage. Next day on Campus... "Edward, mah man, you're just in time!" Joaquin is standing in the corridor waiting for Edward. "Hey, man, what's up?" he casually replied and raises his hand for a high five. They both have this habit of weird nerdy hand gestures every time they meet. It is a sign of their close bond and friendship.

The following day back on Campus...Edward arrives at the university with a heavy heart and a disoriented mind. He is lack energy and walks like he is dragging his feet from the floor just to make it through the school.
