The next day Chance and Kara both were on time, and yet they were swamped with so much work that they barely got some time to breathe. From running around from here and there, to tending to a lot of patients, which was more than they had seen. Chance had two more days to cover in the peds, one of which was only clinic duty. Meanwhile, after two days Terrence was reinstated as well. Things were starting to fall back in place for both of them, with Chance starting his rotation in general surgery, while Terrence was getting acquainted with his work schedule.“I see you are back.” Dr. McGrath was the first one to greet him. Even though the growl of stomach came from Chance, Terrence acknowledged the fact that he was hungry as well. Without further ado, he decided to order some takeout and as a late celebration Terrence dug into the cake. Even though it was a day later, it was still his birthday cake. It had been ages since he got one. He mostly avoided his friends on his birthday and only got texts from his family. As for his last boyfriend, they gave him gifts, but never once did he arrange a cake.Once they were done with lunch and dessert. Terrence decided to check up on some of his patients that he had admitted and whom he left under the supervision of Dr. McGrath. He called and discussed some of the possible modes of treatment in a patient with doubtful prognosis. It was early morning when Chance finally had his time off from his shift. He was exhausted from the lack of sleep, possibly delirious, so much so that he was having second thoughts regarding driving. Ultimately he decided to call a cab and went home. Once he reached his apartment, he noticed Terrence was still there passed out in his bed. Of all the things he had expected to walk into when he came in, that was not it.He checked all the other rooms to ensure that Terrence hadn't got drunk and messed around again. For some reason Terrence was not satisfied with one round, and they went around several times causing him to be late at the office. He was literally running in the hallway which could give the false impression that there was an emergency case he needed to attend to and not that he was late. When he reached he received a quick scolding from his seniors before Kara got to him.“What happened to you? Where did you run off last night? Terrence woke up in his own bed with a terrible hangover looming over his head. “Good morning.” a sweet and painfully loud voice startled him. “Just to make it clear, we did not have sex last night.” Chance declared.“Why are you here?” Terrence asked, in a whisper.“I made you some hangover soup.” Chance smiled. “How much do you remember?”“I remember being suspended, being kicked off the seminar team.
