Chapter 13 Signing With Fenghua

The next day, Nell arrived at the company early in the morning.

As soon as she entered the office, she felt that the atmosphere today was somewhat different.

Everyone was whispering in low voices. When they saw her enter, their expressions changed and they all closed their mouths, looking at her with strange eyes.

Nell’s eyes narrowed and she entered her office without glancing at them.

As soon as she sat down, she dialed on the internal phone line for Hannah to come in.

Hannah entered stiffly and looked at Nell with a hint of sympathy.

Nell leaned her back against the chair in amusement and looked at her. “What happened? It’s only been two days. Why are you looking at me like that?”

Hannah smiled awkwardly and said, “Ms. Jennings, didn’t you… Receive any news in advance about today?”

Nell raised her eyebrows and picked up the cup on the table to pour some water for herself. She replied casually as she drank. “I didn’t! What’s going on?”

“Uh… It’s nothing. I just heard that there’s going to be a new employee at the company today. It seems that she’s joining our PR department.”

“Is that so? Did everyone already receive the news?”

“I heard people in the HR department chatting about it. They said the person who’s joining is a veteran in the public relations field. It seems she’s quite qualified and has handled cases for many A-list celebrities.”

She paused and looked hesitatingly at Nell with a hint of embarrassment.

“Ms. Jennings, what do you think President Morton intentions are... Hiring someone like that?”

Everyone in the company knew that Fenghua’s PR department was headed by Nell, but they did not know about Nell’s background because she kept a very low profile. She never talked about anything else besides work in the office.

However, no matter what background she had, she was still very young. How much experience could a girl in her twenties have?

In this industry where seniority and experience took priority, who would believe that Jason Morton hired such an expert to work under Nell?

If she was not here to work under her, then that could only mean...

Nell finally understood why everyone was looking at her so strangely today.

She narrowed her eyes and hid the emotion under them before smiling faintly. “Alright, you can leave now!”

Hannah was slightly worried by Nell’s calm appearance but knew that it was not her place to say anything, so she simply went out with a concerned expression.

After Hannah left, Nell pondered for a moment before laughing.

She packed her belongings briefly and took the envelope she prepared from her bag, and headed to the conference room.

It was nine in the morning.

The conference room was already filled with various top executives from Fenghua.

Seeing Nell enter, everyone greeted her, some with sincerity and some without.

After all, although the skill and courage she had shown over the past two years convinced most people, there would still be a small group of people who felt that she, a young girl, was unqualified to sit in such an important position.

Nell could not be bothered to care about their thoughts and walked to her own seat.

At that moment, the door of the conference room was pushed open again. When she looked up, she saw Jason Morton walking in with a group of people.

Nell’s pupils contracted as her expression instantly cooled.

Besides the two secretaries following behind Jason, there was also Celine Jennings and her agent, Skylar Terrell.

Everyone in the circle knew who Skylar Terrell was. She also used to work in public relations and more than half of the last batch of A-list big shots were raised by her. It could be considered a remarkable achievement.

She only became an agent later, but perhaps it was due to the direction of the industry changing too quickly or because she had not acclimatized to it, but none of the artists she raised managed to hit it big. The only one under her who was somewhat popular was Celine Jennings.

It turned out that the person Jason hired was her.

Nell’s lips hooked up in mockery.

The other executives were a little confused upon seeing Celine and Skylar.

Everyone naturally knew who Celine was. She was an A-list female artist in the entertainment industry. Although she had only debuted four years ago, her popularity continued to remain high.

It was said that she was the precious daughter of the Jennings family. Although she was not signed to an agency, she had set up her own studio. As long as she was willing to throw money, there would be no shortage of resources.

However, not everyone knew of Skylar Terrell.

After all, it had been more than ten years since Skylar was at her peak.

The talents in the entertainment industry got replaced quickly, and most only had experience for five to eight years. Very few could stay afloat for more than ten years.

Therefore, it was only those with more than ten years of experience in the field that recognized Skylar. Upon associating her appearance with the rumors this morning, they finally realized what was happening today.

They could not help but look at Nell with hints of sympathy.

Anyone could tell that Nell was truly devoted to the company.

Two years ago, when the company was in its most dire straits, she had joined and saved the last few valuable artists for the company.

She worked diligently and conscientiously in the past two years. The person who worked the hardest was her, and the person who handled the most cases was also her. Whenever something happened to an artist in the company, who else would they go to for a solution besides Nell Jennings?

However, a person like her was being replaced right after the company grew and became strong. Anyone would get chills thinking about it.

If there were some who were dissatisfied, there would naturally be those who felt schadenfreude too.

The few who did not get along with Nell immediately came forward to welcome Skylar and Celine with smiles. They greeted each other with laughter, saying that it was a pleasure to meet them and so on.

Celine responded to them with a gentle smile, looking as generous and sweet as ever. It was only when she looked at Nell that a hint of smugness was subconsciously revealed in the depths of her eyes.

Nell lowered her eyes and pretended not to see.

She looked at the wristwatch on her hand with a blank expression and finally heard Jason clear his throat after a while.

“Alright, it’s time. Let’s start the meeting!”

Everyone went back to their seats.

Jason looked at Nell with a complex expression.

In the end, he covered up the trace of guilt in his voice and said, “Let me introduce everyone. This is Celine Jennings. I believe everyone knows who she is.”

Everyone agreed. “Naturally, Ms. Jennings is quite popular. Who wouldn’t know her?”

“I’ve only ever seen her on TV before. I didn’t expect to see her in the flesh today. She looks more beautiful in person.”

“She’s worthy of being the most popular female artist at the moment!”

Jason nodded in satisfaction at the sycophants’ flattery.

“I’ve called you all here today to announce two things. First, from today onwards, Celine Jennings will be signed to Fenghua and become the top talent of Fenghua.”

The crowd was first stunned. Then, thunderous applause followed.

“Is that so? That’s great!”

“Ms. Jennings signing with Fenghua is like an alliance between giants. I hope we all work together well and strive to take it to the next level!”
