Chapter 4 - I can feel his pain!

When he moved a step back, my head spun as he cleaned the blood dripping down the side of his mouth with the back of his hand. My blood!

My words got lodged in my throat as he graced me with a bloody fanged smirk.

He freaking had fangs, like the dogs I met earlier.

Finding my voice, I exclaimed, “What the fuck are you?”

I refrained myself from pushing him away from me, afraid of touching him.

I held my breath when he met my gaze. Concern etched on his forehead as he studied my face which was most probably showing my increasing panic and fear of this man.

“You’ve got such a dirty mouth.” His smirk widened mischievously as he cocked a perfectly shaped eyebrow at me.

He adjusted his arms beside my head and covered the short distance between our lips.

Brushing his lips against mine, “I will have a great time taming you.” He murmured. His low and distinct tone sent a shiver travelling up my spine.

I bit my lower lip and closed my eyes. My heartbeat increased when I felt his lips touching the bite he left on my neck. Instead of sensing the pinching pain spreading like before, pleasure coursed through my whole body as he licked the wound.

I clenched my legs together when the pleasurable shiver halted in between my legs, right at my core.

My eyes flew open in surprise as I grasped onto what was happening.

“Please, leave me alone.” I begged anxiously, my chest heaving. His face blurred in front of me as my eyes pooled with unshed tears. I gulped back the tears but a treacherous tear escaped my left eye.

His hooded eyes followed the tear trailing down my left cheek. Before I could stop him, he kissed it away. I glanced up at him, totally flabbergasted by his sheer audacity.

“Now that I’ve got you, there’s no way I would let you go.” His eyes darkened when I began shaking my head negatively.

“I don’t remember giving you the right to decide for me.” I voiced out.

“And I don’t remember giving you the right to decide for yourself.” He refuted, his voice dropping low. A warning! How dare he try to warn me?

“You’re insane.”

“You’re right. Your voice, your scent and your attitude are driving me mad.”

“Just stop it, okay? I don’t know what you’re doing out here, what you’re up to but I don’t have the time to entertain you in whatever game you’re playing.”

“That’s where you’re wrong. This isn’t a game.”

“Hey! You can watch all the drama you want but don’t start one, okay?” I knew I was provoking and pushing his limits by arguing like this but at this point, I couldn’t just stop without learning the truth about this forest. I felt the need to clear some of the gossips which people were spreading around here.

“What drama?” He either was pretending to sound clueless or he was really confused, either way, his behavior started to annoy me.

“This acting, this set up, it’s all part of your game and I don’t have time to play along.”

“Oh” He snickered darkly. “I don’t need you to play along, darling. I will be the one doing everything but if you want to play, then, I would be glad to play along in whatever game you find playing around here.”

“If this isn’t a game or a drama then what is it?”

“A territory, one which you dared cross.”

“What are you, a dog, claiming this land as your territory?!”

He hissed and closed his eyes as if I burned him. Enraged, he clenched his jaw. I bit my lower lip in nervousness when I saw a muscle twitch.

All my previous courage flew away into the cool breeze blowing by us as I felt a suffocating tension wrapping around us. I took a step back but almost lost my footing when I found his eyes pinned on me, yellow eyes which kept shifting from silver to yellow. Yellow, like those dogs!

There was no denying that this isn’t real anymore. There was just no way he could change the color of his eyes like this. This is surreal and hard to believe but seeing it all happening before my eyes, forced me to think.

“You can’t keep me here against my will.” I persisted but it was quite obvious that nothing was in my favor anymore and to prove this, my voice trembled.

“I guess you didn’t hear me well before. I will be the one deciding everything.”

When he lifted his hands towards me, I swatted his arms away from me and bolted out of there. I looked back over my shoulders to check whether he was trying to catch me only to find him standing still and watching me.

Unlike earlier, I did not hear any growls echo from behind me. Following the yellow lights I saw flashing through the trees, I ran faster until I finally found the path leading back to the road.

My heart swelled with newfound hope and happiness as I stepped back on the road but I halted when I heard a mournful howl echoing across the forest behind me.

“Please, don’t leave me.” I heard his voice, so low-spirited.

I glanced back in shock to find him standing just a few steps away. Too close, I thought.

Without thinking twice, I backed away from him. His yellow eyes downcast, he looked miserable as the distance between us increased.

I screamed when he was suddenly lifted a hundred feet through the air by a zooming dark figure. I would have missed it if I wasn’t already looking at him.

I heard a sickening crack as he was forcefully thrown down. At the same time, I lost my footing and met the ground as brutally as he did. I cried out in pain as I felt an excruciating pain in my chest, right by the side of my heart while the bite on my neck throbbed.

“What did you do to me?” I snapped at him the moment our eyes met across the ground.
