Alejandro’s point of view:
I returned the threatening glare Ivan was throwing my way with one of my own.
“How dare you cross my territory?” I roared.
“Don’t you dare bark at me, you mutt.” Ivan snapped, his pupils thinning out before his eyes turned black.
My wolf, Leo, fought to break free and growled, dangerously deep and low, forcing me into submission but I refused to yield to his demand.
‘Damn it, Leo! Just stay put, I don’t want our mate to be scared of us.’
‘You are the one who scared her away. I was doing great until you put your foot in it.’
‘Fine, I admit that what I did was reckless but just listen to me this time, okay?’
‘I will not stay put if anything goes out of control.’
‘That is if anything goes out of control.’
‘I’ll have your back.’ Once I got my wolf’s accordance, I smirked at Ivan whose forehead creased up into confusing deep folds.
I heard my mate gasp as I half-shifted. I could do nothing about it, at least not now since I had a vampire to throw off my territory.
“Bring it on.” I gestured for him to come my way which he did, almost immediately.
I punched him right into the face. Not expecting this move, he lost his footing. I seized this opportunity, hoisted him up and hurled him down, dry leaves flying around us. He snarled and got up.
I winced when I saw the dent his ass made on the forest ground.
He raised his hand to claw at my face. I swiftly body-swerved it and before he could figure out my next move, I leveled myself off the ground with the help of my wings. I kicked him in the chest and threw him a hundred feet away as payback.
I spun around to a defensive stance when he soared back. Holding a fist up aimed straight at me, his expression was some-where between a snarl and a sneer.
I stepped into the charge, raising a fist to counter-attack his punch. Angered, he blindly leaped at me. I stepped to the side. He ran straight ahead, swan-dived across me and struck the large tree trunk hard. Poor tree!
That crash did nothing to him. If anything, it pissed him off. I grinned.
He picked himself up, shook his head, and spat blood.
He took one step, two, and then flew at me.
I blocked his first strike at my throat, parried a furry of slashing blows to my chest.
He recoiled in disgust. “Why can’t I beat you?”
“You need to try harder.”
“I will tear out your tongue.” He snarled and clawed at my back.
At the same time, my wolf whimpered hearing our mate scream in agony thereupon.
I could no longer restrain Leo. He pushed me back as he shifted and took complete control over the fight.
Leo pounced right at Ivan and knocked him off his feet. We went down hard, Ivan first. Baring his fangs at Ivan, Leo plunged right into his throat, aiming to tear his head off his shoulders.
We struggled. Ivan flailed. His left hand crossed Leo’s face, clawing at his eyes but he swiftly dodged it.
Enraged, Leo bit his hand, the same hand which clawed at my back and hurt our mate.
Ivan howled as Leo’s fangs buried into his flesh, drawing out blood. He shrieked, convulsed. Satisfied, Leo withdrew back to let me finish this off once he caught the fear flashing in Ivan’s eyes.
“You know what; my mate has had enough for the day. I’ll let you go if you get off my territory. If you don’t, I won’t hesitate to tear your head and your arms off your shoulders.” I smirked when he flinched at my threat.
I moved back to let him escape. Pinning my eyes on him, I watched as he took an unsteady step backwards hesitantly, as if he couldn’t believe that I was letting him leave after all this mess he made before he stumbled back the way he came through.
I shifted back to my human form. Feeling my back itchy from the craw marks and the torn parts of my shirt sticking to the wound, I grumbled as I approached my human mate. Using my wolf’s instincts, I closed the wound.
My mate was dumbfounded. Her eyes were frozen, deep in thought.
I snapped my fingers in front of her face to get her attention.
“He was right. You are a werewolf.” She stated, her voice low.
“Yes, I am a werewolf.” I confirmed in a whisper.
I did not want her to know just yet, at least, not in this way.
“How are you okay? You were just wailing.” Her piercing green eyes questioned me silently from under her furrowed brows.
“Werewolves are -”
“I know about werewolves but they should only exist in stories and movies, not here!” She exclaimed.
“Really, you have movies about us? That’s cool!”
“That’s all you heard, like seriously?”
“If you know about werewolves then you probably know that our wolves can fight a small amount of silver. Although it burns, we just need some time to recover.”
“But that wasn’t a small amount of silver. That vampire said that it’s gonna be lethal then how -”
“You must have read about Lycans too if you’ve read about werewolves?”
“Not this again!” She huffed before slowly shaking her head negatively.
“Are you scared of me?” I took a deep breath before spilling out the thought worrying Leo.
“Why would I be scared of you?” She refuted indignantly but her voice trembled.
“I don’t know. When you read about werewolves, you didn’t imagine one with six heads and six arms, did you?” I wanted to erase some of the overbearing tension yet I failed.
She shook her head. “Definitely not with wings though!”
“Tell me, have you ever heard of Lycans before?”
“Not really.” She said.
“I’ll explain everything once we get back home.” I reached out to grab her wrist, but she smacked my hand away.
“I’m not going anywhere with you.” She announced and stepped back.
“What do you mean? You are my mate.” I argued.
“This isn’t how you pursue a girl.” She pointed out.
“This is how we do it in our world.”
“Well, it sucks to be you but I’m not part of your world.” She refuted with a shrug.
“You are now that you’re my mate.”
“Not until I say so myself.” And with that she turned around and walked away.
“Can I at least know your name?” I called out, my eyes brazenly trailed down to her well rounded sexy butt.
“It’s Amelia.” She shouted back and waved me goodbye without even a glance back.
Beautiful, just like her, I thought and watch her figure until she disappeared down the road and back into town.
I feel like life stopped at a standstill when I first saw her. The moment I set my eyes on her, love pierced my heart like a spear. Her rosy-hued lips shone like a lotus blooming divinely and don’t get me started on her eyes.
Her eyes, a rarest emerald green, reminded me of the forest, my most favorite spot in the world. I just wish to get lost in them.
That fleeting smile from her made my heart beat like a wild butterfly. She renders me breathless and at a loss for words. I never thought that I would ever admit this but I was completely smitten by my beautiful mate.
I took in a good whiff of her scent trailing behind her before it could vanish and sighed in contentment. I ignored Leo’s whine as I headed back to the Poldark pack, the opposite way our mate was going.
Amelia’s point of view:Feeling his eyes burning holes in the back of my head, I quickened my pace.I exhaled freely once I turned around the corner and stepped back into town, the place where civilians like me live. I did not even realize I had been holding my breath.I could feel his eyes on my ass the whole way until I turned the corner. He must be sick in the head if he thought I would go anywhere with him.I ran the remaining distance back to my apartment building. I hastily keyed in the code to open my apartment door. Closing my eyes, I sighed and leaned my back against the door once I was safely inside.I glanced at the clock. It was one in the morning. I spent ten hours out there in that forest, ten whole hours which changed my life overnight. That forest has so much stuffs going on. How come the locals around here are so oblivious to it? Either they are ignorant or those creatures know perfectly well how to ca
Amelia’s point of view: While returning back home the next day, I frowned when I noticed a black figure looming by my apartment. Feeling a burst of anger through my chest, I decided that enough was enough. Without wasting a second, I screamed and dashed towards the figure that froze like a deer caught in headlights. I grabbed the sides of his waist in a hip-lock and knocked him off his feet. I glanced down at him when he grunted out in pain while gripping his right arm. Feeling a pain shot up my right arm, I hissed. I stared at Alejandro in shock when he lifted the hood off his head. “It’s you!” I grimaced when his face twisted in pain. “I’m so sorry.” I exclaimed. “It serves you right.” I whispered through gritted teeth. My breath hitched as he swiftly looked up at me. Did he hear me? Impossible! I got rid of that thought. I held out a hand to help him up but he adamantly hoisted himself back on his fee
Alejandro’s point of view: I kept thinking about Amelia… her scent, her voice, her sassiness, damn it! I was screwed! After I’d been to her place the other night, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. I wish to have her here with me, to feel her, to love her. I craved the way she tasted. My wolf wouldn’t let me breathe in peace. We both can’t seem to be able to stay away from our mate. I shouldn’t have let her go back to that town. ‘Glad to know you’ve realized that.’ Leo groaned. ‘Don’t you dare start again!’ I warned my wolf. He boldly growled back but before I could tell him anything, he withdrew back to the back of my mind. That was his personal space. And, I wasn’t allowed to disturb him there. I would do anything to have Amelia here with me. Then, maybe my wolf wouldn’t be so pissed off and moody all the time. But, she’d already made it clear that she wanted nothing to do with me. I can’t believe I’m letting a human control me. She’s m
Amelia's point of view: I was humming to my favorite song while washing the dirty dishes after dinner before calling it a night. I was exhausted. “Yeah, I’m gonna take my horse to the old town road I’m gonna ride til I can’t no more…” I used the scrubber as a mic as I sang along. Once I was done cleaning the kitchen, I sunk down into my comfortable chair in the living room. I sighed in relief before removing my earphones. I sat upright in alert when I heard a noise from outside my apartment. It almost felt like something was being moved roughly against the hard surface of the door from outside. I swear to God if it was that so-called gorgeous man who called himself the Lycan King, I… I… What would I do again? I stood up and walked to my front door. I was trying so hard not to let that little fear I felt growing within me but it was quite evident in my hesitant steps. Am I really letting whatever might be at the
Amelia’s point of view:“Don’t you dare come close to me!” Stepping back while pointing a finger up at him, I warned him as he neared me.“Is this really what you want?” He asked with an eyebrow raised questioningly.I gulped and stepped two to three steps back when he somehow made his way halfway across the room.I stopped with a gasp as my back touch the wall behind me.Before I could move to the left, Alejandro covered the remaining distance between us using his supernatural speed. I trapped between him and the wall within seconds.Looking up, I found it hard to breathe when I met his gaze.I rolled my eyes and started to tell him to leave me alone, but he leaned in and his breath whispered hot through my hair. “I think you want me here… close to you.” He stroked my cheek with his, sending a hot trail of tingles to shot up my whole body.My heart stutter
Amelia’s point of view:I pretended as if nothing had happened when I walked out of the bathroom once I was done. Every part of my body burned with the heated glare he was throwing my way.Not being able to keep my straight face for long, I dared glance at him.My eyes were immediately captured by his piercing gaze.Ignoring the sudden anxious feeling churning in my stomach, I grinned at him. “Good morning!”“Good? It had been anything but good.” He grumbled with a sigh but he kept gazing intently at me as if he was sorting through my thoughts.“Not good? You woke up on the wrong side of the bed then. Oops! I forgot. You didn’t even sleep on the bed.” I slowly shook my hea
Amelia’s point of view: I stopped munching and narrowed my eyes at the hand reaching for my plate. It must have felt my stare as it promptly yet smoothly moved my plate across the table. I trailed my eyes up until they pinned down on Alejandro. Feeling my gaze on him, he stilled before looking at me. I tipped my head up and arched a brow at him. He completely ignored me as he switched his plate with mine. I forced the bite down my throat before shouting at him. “What are you doing? Give it back!” I reached for my plate of pancakes but he swatted my hands away. “You can eat mine.” He shrugged nonchalantly as if it was no big of a deal that he just stole my food. “Give it back now or else…” I trailed off when I was unable to think of something I could threaten him with. “Or else… what?” He provoked me. Oh boy! You wouldn’t know what hit you! I wanted to say but I settled on something else.”Or else you won’t believe what I’m going to do to yo
Amelia's point of view: I opened the kitchen cupboards and stretched upward on tiptoes to pull down a set of nestled, metal jars. “Shit!” I cussed out loud when they slipped out of my hands. I had ample of time to catch them but I let them crash and slide down the kitchen counter. They landed with a loud clang onto the ground. Turning to glance at Alejandro when he growled from the living room, I grimaced. “Sorry!” I mouthed at him with a not so innocent pout on my face. His eyes darkened. My heart started pounding hard and my stomach dipped. He knew that I did that on purpose. Dang it! That was an alert for me, yet I wasn’t going to stop now that I was set on getting rid of him. Yes, that was my idea. I’d annoy him until he would have to leave my apartment. Turning my back on him, I moved around to get my babies. I grabbed two packets of M&Ms and skittles and smacked them down hard on the table. I could fe
