Ava Carter was a 17 year old orphan. She was a member of the Crystal Blue Pack. She was the punching bag in her pack, as people usually walked all over her, literally. She was the weakling, the outcast, the loner who no one ever bothered to get to know. Until the night of her birthday when she overheard a conversation that left her with no other decision but to leave and never look back. She had never been outside the pack territory, so she had no idea what was lurking in the woods. She ran into the most handsome man that she had ever seen in her entire life and he uttered one word, four letters that changed her life forever. "Mine" Jayden King was the alpha of the North Pack. He was the most feared alpha and was often times referred to as the alpha of all alphas. No one who trespassed on his land, ever lived long enough to tell the tale. He was a very cold and heartless man. Until the night he ran into someone he had long ago lost hope of finding. Now he has her and instead of being the mate that she had always hoped for, he ignores her.

Not a lot of time spent on his curse, or his redemption, after he treats her like crap for so long, but the end of the book is sweet.

Book seems like a rough draft. Missing plot connections as it jumps from one thing to another without much if any explanation. 0/10 for spice, only alludes to any physical events.

Prologue
I'm Ava Cater. I'm a member of the Crystal Blue pack; at least I think I am. I don't know if I can refer to myself as a member of a pack that tortures its own pack members for their own twisted satisfaction.I was the walking punching bag for anyone who felt the need to hit something, or in my case someone. It was absolute torture living among these people who you thought would be there to protect you and not cause you even more suffering than you have already endured.I was a loner not by choice, but nonetheless a loner. It was easy for anyone to take advantage of me since I was the weakling. I was the weakest person in my pack. I wasn't always weak, but over time as the beatings intensified, I lost communication with my wolf.I think she was mad that I never stood up for myself, or she was too weak from all the be

Chapter 1
Ava's POV"Mom, please don't go" I begged as tears ran down my face. I sniffled a little trembling in fear as I pleaded with her with my eyes."I have to go sweetie. You have to stay in here and don't come out until I come get you" she said, placing a kiss on my forehead as she pulled back with a reassuring smile on her face. She walked out the door and closed it softly behind her. I sat on the floor in the secret passage and rocked myself back and forth. I was terrified and not having anyone else in here to keep me company only made me even more anxious.I heard screams outside the door and panicked. What if something happened to her? I coul

*Trigger Warning*Ava's POV"Happy Birthday to me" I said sarcastically to myself. There was nothing happy about my birthday. It was just another reminder to remind me that I got to live and my mom didn't. I had no one to celebrate with. I had no friends or family. I was just a girl staying in a pack surrounded by people that wanted nothing to do with her.My life was pathetic. I was pathetic. My life was so messed up. I felt broken and dead inside like there was nothing left for me in this world, and there truly was nothing left for me.Sometimes I felt like I didn't deserve to be alive. I know that if she was here she would comfort me and tell me it wasn't my fault. No matter how many times I tried to reassure myself th

Ava's POV "What?" I asked, coming out of my daze as his words registered in my brain. "I am not yours. Get the hell off me, you perv" I said trying to shove him off me. This seemed to anger him, because before I knew it he pinned my hands above my head. He gave me a murderous glare and spoke again. "You are MINE! Whether you like it or not... Mate" he gritted out in annoyance. I froze when he said the word 'mate'. He was my mate? I was his mate? Now it was starting to make sense. I knew that there was something familiar about him, and also the fact that I felt safe and warm in his arms. His smell was intoxicating and addicting. He smelt like the woods, with a bit of vanilla. If his smell and comfort wasn't enough, then the sparks that shot up my arms, where he was holding me should be enough proof. I felt a warm tingly sensation in the pit of my stomach as a shiver went up my spine. There was a voice inside my head chanting the word 'mate'. It was faint, but it was still there w

Ava's POVI was still in the room that my asshole of a mate left me in. Not having anything else to do, I stood to my feet and took a look around. The room looked like it belonged to a male and if the smell was anything to go by, then this was his room. The only colors I could see were grey and black. He did not like color at all. His room looked so depressing, like there wasn't any personal touch to it. He just had everything he needed and added a few abstract paintings. This room might have looked depressing, but it was nowhere close to how depressing my 'room' was. It was the nicest room I have ever had the pleasure of being in that I did not have to clean. "Hi" I heard a voice and turned around to the doorway. I didn't even realize that someone had entered the room until now.

Ava's POV"I need some space" I said trying to back everyone up off me so that I could heal the child. They took steps back away from me and I checked the boy to see how badly wounded he was. I let out a horrified gasp as I took in the child's appearance. It was a nasty bite at the left side of his hip. There was even a chunk of flesh missing from there. Quickly springing into action, I covered his wound with both my hands and took deep breaths in. I closed my eyes as I tried to focus my powers on healing the boy. I felt a warm tingly feeling in my hands as my skin burned, not in a way that it hurt. I opened my eyes and watched as a yellow glow shone from under my hands and onto the boy. Looking at my hands I could see the gold swirls in my hands as the power flowed out of me and

Ava's POVWe were now all alone in the room. He studied me with his eyes as he took in every feature of my wolf. He took a step forward and my wolf backed away.Wait what?'I thought you were excited to meet our mate' I said in my mind, as I talked to my wolf.'He cheated on us!' she answered with a huff.I didn't bother saying anything else because I knew we were both hurt from what that red haired bitch, Stella had said earlier. I don't know if what she said was true or if she was trying to get under my skin, but it was working. When I had hit her, I was shocked at first, but that shock soon turne

Ava's POV "What's wrong?" she asked, shaking my shoulder. "No-nothing" I said, getting up. "I'm not feeling well," I said not looking at her. "Ok. Let's head back to the pack house" she suggested getting up as well. On our way back to the pack house all I could do was think about the person I saw. Josh was here, but why. I knew deep down that he was here for me, but at the same time I would like to believe that he was here on other business. As soon as I entered the pack house, I wanted more than anything to run out of there. There was a group of familiar boys standing in the foyer talking to Stella. To be more specific, they were flirting with her. As soon as the door closed behind me, their attention drifted from her and focused on me. I gulped in fear as I backed away from their murderous glares. "Ava, we have been looking all over for you. Father has been worried sick ever since you ran away" Caleb stepped forward and embraced me in a brotherly hug. I stood awkwardly as he

Jayden's POVFuck. This was the worst possible time for me to find my mate. After years of searching and coming up short, I finally found her. I found her when I no longer felt the need to have a mate. The only reason why I even brought her back with me was to appease my wolf. I've always wanted a strong mate, but when I met her I could practically smell how weak and pathetic she was. She couldn't rule by my side. She couldn't even stand up for herself much less stand up for thousands of people. How wrong I was.She had managed to prove me wrong and left my pack shocked and speechless. Never in a million years did I ever imagine that my mate would actually be 'the angel'.

Jayden's POVFixing my cloak so that it concealed my face completely, I stepped out of the car. I walked up to the entrance of the pack house where alpha Benjamin of the Crystal Blue pack was waiting with a polite smile. That smile won't be there for long though."Alpha Jayden, to what do we owe the pleasure of you gracing us with your presence?" he asked with a bow. I nodded in acknowledgement and could see from my peripheral vision that his son was glaring daggers at me. I turned my attention to him and he straightened up quickly and bowed to show his respect.I smirked in satisfaction and focused my attention back on his father. He ushered me inside and led me to what I presumed was his office. When we got inside he took a seat behind his desk and I took the seat in front of the desk
