It's a trilogy, people. Trilogies are meant to be read in order. Why is this even a question? Book one, then book two, then book three. The prequel is optional. This isn't the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's three romance novels about three couples in one town. The order is printed on the books. I think we over-complicate things in the age of endless wikis and reading guides. Sometimes a series is just a series, numbered sequentially. Hope Valley is one of those times. Save the deep-order analysis for series with 20 books and multiple timeline jumps. Here, it's beautifully simple.

I think I'll start with the main trilogy and if I love it, I'll read the prequel as a 'bonus feature' later. That way, if the series isn't for me, I haven't invested time in a novella first. I disagree with the idea that you must read them in order. Each Hope Valley novel focuses on a different couple, so they're designed as standalones within a shared universe. You could pick up 'Forever With You' and understand the central romance perfectly fine. Sure, you'll see spoilers for who ended up together in the previous books, but if you don't mind that, the experience isn't ruined. I actually read 'Stay With Me' first and loved it, then went back to the others. It made the first book, 'Come Back to Me', feel like a prequel exploring how a relationship I already knew about began. It's a different perspective, but still enjoyable.

For the core novels up to early 2023, the publication order is: 'New Beginnings at Seaside Blooms', 'Making Wishes at Bay View', 'Chasing Dreams at Hedgehog Hollow', 'Finding Love at Hedgehog Hollow', 'A Wedding at Hedgehog Hollow', 'Family Secrets at Hedgehog Hollow', 'Christmas at Hedgehog Hollow', 'Snowflakes Over Hedgehog Hollow', 'Spring Tides at the Starfish Café', 'Summer Nights at the Starfish Café', 'Autumn Leaves at the Starfish Café', 'Winter Lights at the Starfish Café'.
